👣 This is a guide for the independent traveler who likes to move freely and explore Palermo beyond cultural stereotypes and tourist traps.
Moreover, this is a guide for the responsible traveler who doesn't want their money falling into the wrong hands.
👌🏼 That's why in this guide you'll only find places 100% guaranteed to be mafia-free: all the shopkeepers, artisans and entrepreneurs belong to a network that has refused to pay protection money to Sicily's Cosa Nostra mafia.
💪🏼 Supporting them is the best way to ensure your visit to Palermo is good for you and Palermitans!
**What's included?**

- to drink 🍸: wine bars, cocktail bars, and aperitivo places

Solo dates as a girl give you a chance to focus entirely on yourself, indulge in activities you love, and discover new passions without any distractions. Solo dates allow you to connect with yourself on a deeper level and build self-confidence. Plus, there's something liberating about being able to make spontaneous decisions and embrace your independence fully. So, why not take yourself out and enjoy the company of the most important person in your life – you! This guide is for women that live in the city of Philadelphia, although I’m sure most cities have the same idea of outings.

Reykjavík is the capital and largest city in Iceland. It’s also the northernmost capital in the world. The city, on the southwest coast of the island nation, is home to less than 150,000 people (that’s 60% of the total population). It’s by no means sleepy, though. It has a thriving art scene (music festivals, independent record stores, pop-up exhibits) and foodie spots (Michelin restaurants, organic wine bars, coffee culture). A grand church towers over the city. Candy-colored houses line the streets. Thermal swimming pools are gathering spots for most neighborhoods. Northern lights sightings are a real possibility (seasonally, of course). It’s also the jumping-off point for exciting adventures all around the Land of Fire and Ice. Pack for all seasons, as the weather changes frequently throughout the day--no matter what time of year it is. And be prepared to fall in love.
This detailed guide includes:
Places: islands, neighborhoods
Stay: hotels
Eat: bakeries, cafés, coffee shops, food carts & halls, ice cream, Michelin stars, restaurants
Drink: beer bars, breweries, cocktail bars, wine bars
Shop: beauty products, bookstores, chocolate shops, clothing boutiques, flea markets, outdoor wear, record stores, vintage clothing, wool products
Do: art museums, churches, concert venues, history museums, lakes, memorials, parks, peace stones, roads, sculptures, sports venues, squares, streets
Transportation: airports, bus terminals, car rentals, ferries
Note: I travel to Reykjavík quite frequently, so this guide is updated often.

This is a Travel Guide for a trip to Crete in Greece.
It can take days, weeks, or even months to plan an independent trip properly and it can be scary. So in order not to waste your precious time, I'm here to help :)
You can find a lot of information about specific places on the Internet. Still, often that information is outdated, and it is difficult and time-consuming to find the most useful information.
So forget about travel agencies, save money and time, and grab my plans instead.
These plans were born from a love for travel and the desire to share impressions and experiences from every corner of the world I visited.
First of all, I create the plans for myself and I can assure you, it takes a lot of time... Sometimes weeks or months as I mentioned before. After returning from the trip I update the plans with my insights and recommendations, so you can be assured that the plans are informative and of high quality.
So you will have all the needed information, and you can easily adapt it to your trip. You can select which places and on what days to visit. Enjoy!

Off the Beaten-Path Madrid, Where Locals Actually Go. If you are like me, you hate to pack your days traveling from one tourist hotspot to the next 'must-see' landmark. Take a break from the usual guides and lists of what you 'should' see in Madrid and allow yourself to experience Madrid for all its charm through its food, shops, drinks, and unique culture. I find it fascinating that Madrid does not have an Eiffel Tower, or a Coliseum, yet millions are drawn (& some stay like me) to its indescribable aura that you need to see for yourself.

Albi is known as "La Rouge" ("The Red One") because of its beautiful brick buildings, most notably the outstanding Cathédrale de Sainte-Cécile. Its ancient History, beautiful sights, and easy access to explore combine to make Albi a wonderful place to visit.
In this guide, I share more about the history of this town and the main sights to visit. But please don’t limit your time in the city to these stops: I suggest getting lost and discovering all the charming streets filled with old buildings, independent stores, and cafés in this lovely town.

Let's get one thing straight: Cheese is love, and while the French reign supreme in this kingdom! The Italians can hold their own pretty bloody well. Living in Italy, particularly in Bra- the proud home of Italy's ultimate cheese festival" Bra Cheese" - I have drowned myself in this cheesy paradise. This festival was founded by the slow food movement (which has its HQ right in Bra) it is a must for any cheese aficionado.
The following festivals, Pro-locos and Sarga' are generally put on by local communities and often coincide with the celebration of patron saints and similar holidays. There are plenty more than just these, but from my experience, these are worth your visit.
Now let's talk about the cream of the crop in the Italian cheese world. You cannot forget "the king" Reggiano Parmesan, a staple that deserves a permanent spot in your fridge. On the other end of the spectrum and country, there's Buffalo Mozzarella, a soft and slightly tart delight that screams summer. We cannot overlook Gorgonzola, with its range of mild and cream to bold and spicy. Crowd-pleasing favourite Ricotta and arguably the most versatile Italian cheese. A personal favourite, Taleggio, this northern Italian cheese especially when a little over ripe, is an unforgettable as a passionate date. Pecorino (the proper stuff - sheep's milk) deserves a mention - when it's good it's bloody fantastic!
Get out of the main Italian cities and experience these wonderful countryside areas and the produce and producers that make them, the next time you are in Italy.
"Blessed are the cheesemakers" indeed!

From independent design shops to creative concept stores, Cologne has a thriving boutique culture ranging from approachable to high-end shops selling all sorts of interesting products. And don't forget about the amazing secondhand and vintage shopping here!
One of the things that first stood out to me about Cologne was the vibrancy of local business. I noticed independently owned shops around the city, and significantly less big box retailers than I was used to coming from the US. The abundance of small retail is one of my favorite things about life in Cologne.
