Uji Keihan Station

This walking route starts at the Uji Keihan Station.  The station first opened in 1913, but the current building, which won the Good Design Award in 1996, was designed by the architect Hiroyuki Wakabayashi. In 2000 the station was selected as one of the 'Best 100 Stations in Kinki Region'.

Uji Tea & Historical Park - Uji Chazuna/Ocha to Uji no Matcha Historical Park

Directly behind Uji Keihan Station is the new Uji Tea & Historical Park, which opened in 2023. The site includes a park building for shops, cafe, and workshops), car parking, market space, tea plantation, archeological representation area. The park and building is the perfect starting point to the walking route where you can learn about Uji and its history in the tea making industry before continuing on around the town and areas that make up Uji.
