I’m going to cover all of my favorite places to eat and drink in San Sebastian, Spain! About me and my travel style: I lived in San Sebastian from February-April, 2023. I restaurant and bar hopped my way through each neighborhood and am here to tell you my recommendations! If you’re the type of foodie that values atmosphere, presentation, and all-around vibes, then this is the guide for you! I’m all about budget with a side of splurge! What does that mean? Well, sometimes I spend more on a cocktail than the amount of food I’ve ordered. But other times, I order multiple pintxos (pronounced pinchos) and wait to buy a bottle of wine at the supermarket afterwards! Don’t let the colorful salad photo fool you, the majority of this guide focuses on pastries, meat, and cheese! I like to be out and about, and as a solo traveler, bars and restaurants provide a great place to people watch! I’ll include the places I frequented on my own, the spots me and my newfound friends hit, and where I took my guests who visited me for a more high-end experience! I’ll give you my perspective as a 27-year-old American from Atlanta, and I’ll share tid bits I heard along the way from others! About San Sebastian: You will not be disappointed with the amount of cafes, restaurants, and bars available at your fingertips! This town thrives on their cuisine and nightlife, so there’s something for everyone! Since the amount of options can be overwhelming, I’m here to share the highlights from my experience after some hits and some misses! I really tried to narrow down this list, so I capped it at 45 places. This guide includes where to go, for what meal, and in which neighborhood: - Breakfast - Lunch - Pintxos - Dinner - Dessert - Drinks

⭐️ This travel guide will save you 10+ hours of researching the best restaurants, wine bars, meat/cheese/antipasti, coffee & sweet shops, and more in Emilia-Romagna! Emilia-Romagna, often hailed as Italy's "food valley," is the birthplace of some of the world's most cherished and protected foods, the freshest and most well-known ingredients, and some of Italy's most beloved recipes. This region is renowned for treasures like Parmigiano Reggiano, (aka the king of cheeses) Parma ham (prosciutto), Lambrusco, tagliatelli ragu (also known as bolognese sauce), and so much more. Emilia-Romagna benefits from a unique microclimate, making its location, terrain, soil, and climate perfect for cultivating the finest resources. Because of this, the food is undeniably some of the best in the world. If you want a foodie adventure, consider a tour through Emilia-Romagna. In my opinion, the Fall and Winter months would be the most ideal based on the region's classic hearty and warm dishes like tortellini en brodo which would just not have the same magic in the middle of the summer. But regardless of when you visit, finding a subpar meal will be a challenge. This guide features a curated list of places to eat and drink in a few of the larger cities in the region – Parma, Modena, and Bologna. I've included an array of wine bars, cafes, trattorie, sandwich shops and sweet shops, catering to various price points and styles so that there is something for everyone! While you can't really go wrong with any eatery in this region, choosing any of the recs in this guide will ensure hassle-free and time-saving planning so you can enjoy every meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner). Featuring: 🍝Curated dining and drinking recommendations in Parma, Modena, and Bologna based on quality, atmosphere and overall experience 🍝Recs include coffee shops, sweet shops, wine/cocktail bars, aperitivo bars, and restaurants for lunch and dinner 🍝Descriptions and details on each eatery with recommendations on what to order 🍝Direct links to each eatery's address on Google Maps so you can easily get directions once there 🍝Direct links to Instagram pages (if available) 🍝Links to the websites with more details 🍝Hours of operation so you can plan your visit accordingly Buon Apetito!

Ever contemplated a new method of travel? A way to break up all of the traffic-filled roadtrips or miserable treks to the airport, only to wait 2-3 hours for a flight? Fed up with the same old highway views (or lack of views from the plane)? If so, this guide is for you! From the very first time I boarded an Amtrak Long Distance (LD) train in 2016 in Oakland, CA, I was immediately overcome with excitement, which quickly morphed into a passion. I have yet to go on a trip and not catch myself in a trance staring out the window on multiple occasions, failing to read/watch all of the books/shows I thought I would need or having a deep conversation with a complete stranger in the observation car. These experiences are the reason why I write this guide, to share and hopefully inform prospective travelers. If you are not familiar with Amtrak’s LD services, fear not! I intend to offer as much information about the train options, destinations, schedules and anything else I can think of to lead your potential adventure. This is just part one of a three-part guide and will cover the intro as well as the first five long-distance trains (numerically). Be sure to check out the other two sections (below) as well as all my other work on Amtrak and budget-oriented traveling. If for some reason, I don’t cover something or you have questions, feel free to reach out!

There are secret islands in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. Nine of them, actually. The Azores are an autonomous region of Portugal, even though they're nearly 900 miles off the coast of Lisbon. Mount Pico, on the island of Pico, is actually the highest point in the European country. The volcanic archipelago is covered with farmland. Small fishing communities line the coasts. Travelers were first introduced to the remote islands when they became a refueling stop for flights between Europe and North America. Direct flights from Boston and New York eventually followed. The Azores are finally being discovered by North Americans without Portuguese heritage. It's about time. Ponta Delgada, the little capital, mixes historic buildings with modern hotels and restaurants. São Miguel, the main island, is full of hiking trails and hot springs. Pico Island is famous for its wine. While seven other islands are just waiting to be explored. With mild climate, thanks to the jet stream, the Azores are a year-round destination. Go before the secret gets out. This detailed guide includes: Places: islands, cities, neighborhoods, towns, hidden villages Stay: hotels Eat: bakeries, coffee shops, ice cream stands, pizzerias, restaurants, teahouses Drink: beach bars, rooftop bars, tapas bars, wineries Do: abandoned hotels, aqueducts, bamboo groves, beaches, botanical gardens, bridges, chapels, churches, fountains, fumaroles, gardens, gates, hikes, lakes, marinas, mountains, natural swimming pools, nature preserves, public parks, roads, sculptures, squares, statues, tourist offices, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, viewpoints, windmills Transportation: airports, car rentals, ferries, parking lots
