Eating & Drinking your way through San Sebastian, Spain
Old Town/Parte Vieja
The center of the action! This quintessential, historic neighborhood is full of bars and restaurants. The narrow, cobblestone streets are packed with foot traffic giving life to the area. Here you will find hole in the wall pintxo bars, one after the other, that offer traditional cuisine. It’s impossible to visit them all! But try your best to hop around for an authentic experience. Parte Vieja is also home to the majority of night life in San Sebastian! Late-night bars and discotecas stand alongside beautiful churches and a former bullring. You won’t be disappointed by the offerings, there’s something for everyone!
Breakfast/Coffee
Oiartzun
Perfectly situated on a corner facing the back of City Hall and the main boulevard, this cafe was my go-to spot for coffee and pastries. Order at the counter or sit outside under the awning to admire the trees, feel the ocean breeze, and watch as tourists and locals alike meander through their day. My order was “Croissant de chocolate y un cafe solo”. Reasonably priced by my standards, I usually spent around 4 euros.
