Whether you are planning the ultimate dog-friendly trip to Virginia Beach & Norfolk or are moving there with your dog, this guide is exactly what you need! By saving this dog-friendly guide, you will have access to all of my recommendations and necessary information you will need to have the best time in Virginia Beach and Norfolk with your dog.
Three years ago in March 2020, I moved to Virginia Beach with my dog, Chewie. I had only planned to live there for a few months but I ended up living there until June 2021. During my time living in Virginia Beach, I made so many wonderful memories with my dog, as well as others' dogs, at many of the places I have included in this essential dog-friendly guide for Virginia Beach and Norfolk.
You can scroll the list of places and view all of them on the interactive map that is updated after each trip I make to the area. In addition, you will be able to view the detailed notes and suggestions I have made for specific places.

This is a food tour that I've actually done with a few friends, so it's tried, tested, & true! It includes 7 spots that are all within walking distance of each other so it’s perfect for a fun day trip. Each spot in the crawl serves food that you can order in small amounts. That means you can try ALL of the spots in a day! 5 of them feature savory options, and the last 2 feature awesome desserts. The order of the stops makes the most sense for walking.
Most of the stops in this food crawl offer Chinese food, because of the heavy Chinese influence in the Flushing area. Most people think of Manhattan’s Chinatown when they think of Chinatown in New York. However, most of the food in Manhattan Chinatown is Cantonese (and yes, it's great!). On the other hand, Flushing is Queens’ Chinatown. It's not necessarily forgotten, but it represents mainland China more. Manhattan’s Chinatown is more compressed, whereas Flushing has a lot of big food halls, grocery stores, and communities so it feels more local.
I've also included a bonus map of 15 of my other favorite food spots in Flushing and nearby Murray Hill… in case you happen to still be hungry, or if you ever return to Flushing & just want to try something new! The bonus spots aren't in walking distance the way the ones in the food crawl are. But I wanted to include some food in this guide that wasn't just Chinese, to highlight the Korean, Indian, and Taiwanese demographics that also influence these neighborhoods.

Did you know Big Bend National Park is the #4 rated place in the world to see the stars? This park is so stunning that on clear nights you can see the entire milky way with almost no light pollution.
Recently, I checked stargazing off my bucket list and traveled between El Paso and Big Bend on a 5 hour winding road trip. On the way, I discovered all kinds of hidden gems and places worth visiting. In this guide you will find my favorite stops along the west Texas border.
What's Included:
• 2 Different Routes between El Paso & Big Bend National Park
Recommendations In:
• El Paso
• Fort Davis
• Marfa
• Terlingua
• and every stop in between
+ potential additional stops farther afield
This trip was unforgettable for me and I hope it's something I can help others experience too. Most of West Texas is very rural, so I made sure to include the best advice I have for other people (like me) that are from large urban cities and other climate zones.
PS- I visited during the heat wave of late summer 2023, I don't recommend. Consider visiting when it is cooler - it was 115 degrees when I was in town.

Located in the scenic foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Charlottesville is a city that really celebrates its historic roots.
For this road trip, I’ve crafted a diverse Charlottesville itinerary that allows for plenty of historical exploration, but doesn’t pass over some of the area’s best non-historic attractions.
I’ve done this exact route myself just like this, and it’s got it all.
Whether you’re in search of a rich cultural experience, or just a relaxing retreat, this Charlottesville itinerary should fit the bill!
In it, you'll find:
🏛️ Classic Sights
🍽️ Restaurant Recommendations
🍺 Breweries, Winery and Cider picks
🍑 Local Attractions
🛏️ My Top Accommodation Picks
- and more-
Time needed: 48 hours
Best time to visit: Year round, but April through November is particularly nice

Few places in the world are more magical than New York City at Christmas. Think of all the holiday songs that have been written specifically about the Big Apple during the holiday. Many experts would even argue that modern-day Christmas, the way we celebrate today, was born in New York City!
Temperatures dropping, drinking mulled wine or hot apple cider, seeing a giant illuminated tree on every corner, skating amidst the skyscrapers, and sparkling holidays windows are a huge part of why I love NYC. This guide was created with the intent of helping you enjoy the city in December as much as I do!
This Guide Includes:
-------------------------------------------
🎄The most impressive Christmas Light Displays (with a walking route for each)
⛸ Top spots for Ice Skating & Hot Chocolate
🛷 The best holiday shows & markets & Christmas trees
🎅🏻 Where to find Santa
🧭 A suggested itinerary
🗓 Key dates in the City
-------------------------------------------
And more!
