OUR ULTIMATE GUIDE TO CONNECTICUT
Sistersnacking
We're always asked for our favorite restaurants in our home state of CT. So we've done our best to make a guide of them, by cuisine type. We also include places we think you can skip. We're always trying new spots, so we'll be constantly adding more to this list. Enjoy!

Sandwiches (or grinders ;))
Claudia's Grinder Shop
@sistersnacking
Unassuming spot across from a mini golf place we grew up going to, Claudia’s makes the best chicken cutlet GRINDERS (yes, grinders, it’s a CT thing). Get chicken parm, eggplant, or the popular “Chicken Cutlet” sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and mayo.

Rein's New York Style Deli
@sistersnacking
Us Jews need a nearby Jewish deli and Rein’s is it. Serving some fire pastrami, matzo ball soup, and reubens (we like a turkey reuben). Also have an amazing tuna melt. They have grab and go or a massive dining room with that classic jewish deli hospitality.

Gaetano's Deli
@sistersnacking
Many recs for this spot so drove to Westport to try their Italian grinders. Get what you like and we’re sure it will be good. Not the largest sandwiches but we enjoy them nonetheless.

Pizza
Sally's Apizza
@sistersnacking
We KNOW it's controversial, but we think New Haven has better pizza than NYC. New York still has amazing pizza, but Sally's is where we go when we want the best slice.

Luna Pizza Glastonbury
@sistersnacking
They have a few locations in the state, but they make a fresh mozz pizza with a sweet sauce that we’ve always loved. It’s not really thin crust but it’s really good. We also get a white pie with crispy eggplant, ricotta, and spinach which always hits the spot.

"I was under the impression that there would be multiple New Haven recommendations and there weren’t and the ones that were there were obvious to those who live in Connecticut (Pepes and Sallys)"

We’re Sistersnacking, four sisters who love, well, snacking. We grew up in Glastonbury, CT and the majority of our fondest memories revolve around food. As a family of six, sometimes it’s easier to go out to eat than cook and we find ordering family style is the best way to do it. We love trying new foods and restaurants and exploring new cities and can’t wait for you to snack with us!
