A Few of my Favorite Fall Things - Paris Edition I love Paris year round, but autumn in Paris packs a little extra magic. It is, in my opinion, the best time to visit and was always my favorite time of year while living in Paris. Thinning crowds, glowing sunsets, changing leaves along the boulevards, the smell of mulled wine and roasted chestnuts, and the excuse to spend hours reading in cozy corners of French cafés... need I say more? Save this for the next time you are visiting Paris September - November as a starting point for how to soak up the best of autumn in Paris.

This is the exact itinerary I put together for my wife and I during our first Eurotrip. Paris was our second stop from starting in London. Why no Louvre? You could spend an entire day there to appreciate all of the art and given our limited time I thought it best to save the Louvre for a return trip when the weather wasn't as nice. So, instead of Bordeaux being known as "the little Paris", Paris should be known as "the big Bordeaux"! I've been to Bordeaux two times: in the winter and in the summer. In the winter, the gothic architecture of the church and cathedrals mixes up with the naked trees. In the summer, the all vibe of the city changes, every terrace is full of live and all the fountains have water (in the winter, all the fountains don't have water, because of the risk of freezing).
