My Favorite Places in Paris

My Favorite Places in Paris

Eating, shopping, sightseeing, etc.

I express often that one day, I want to own a place in Paris. And with that sentiment that Paris is probably my favorite city in the world.

I think it's because for as much as there is to see, it's actually my favorite place to just exist more than anything else. It's an introvert's paradise, but more than that there's a pace to the city and a dimension to the energy and lifestyle here that just makes sense to me. Of course, it's luxurious. But I think it's a myth that you have to be be engaged in a specific level of luxury to enjoy Paris. The magic of it is that every single thing about existing here feels innately luxurious, because most of said luxury is completely democratic for everyone to experience collectively.

Parisian way of life is also very simple. And an understated yet crucial part of why Parsiaians are known for their elegance and sophistication, in my opinion, is because of their expertise when it comes to blending luxury and simplicity, and even seeing them as one and the same. Luxury is a mindset here. And it makes life feel really rich without any mention of a designer pricetag.

Being part of a collective that cares deeply about art and culture, especially that of what makes their city so special, is also something that makes me feel incredibly seen here.

But anyways, I digress. Here is a good chunk of my favorite places in Paris.

Saint Pearl

Great cozy cafe in St. Germain area, and a much less touristy option compared to the brand names and flagships in the area (Cafe de Flore, Les Deux Magots, etc).

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Sarah Pollock is a twenty-something-year-old traveler, creative, and spiritualist. She graduated with a degree in Business Information Systems (although she did not enjoy it) and a minor in Sustainability from the University of Florida. Since embarking on her first trip abroad to Australia and New Zealand at 15 years old, she has since visited 25 countries and counting- most of them solo. She is also an avid foodie, reader, concert-goer, sitter at coffee shops, introspective thinker, and champion of small businesses. She prides herself on her romantic and nostalgic approach to seeing the world, which is reflected in the hidden gem-filled and slightly sentimental tone of her writing and recommendations. She recently spent this past school year splitting time between Tel Aviv and Be’er Sheva, Israel; teaching English to underrepresented and underprivileged children in both Hebrew and Arabic-speaking schools. She is currently continuing this work in Madrid. For more personal thoughts and musings and present updates on where she is in the world and how she’s feeling about it, consider subscribing to her bi-weekly travel newsletter, Postcards. Other subject matters, though all undoubtedly influenced by her experience living abroad, are explored through her primary publication, Older Sister (both linked in bio).
