Our 15-day Italy trip has been one of the best highlights of our lives! After several weeks of research across blogs, forums, reviews, YouTube videos, IG reels, and whatnot, we’ve consolidated the best in this guide. Here’s what to expect from this guide and how to make the most of it.
✨ The first half is dedicated to essential travel tips that are even more important than the itinerary. Knowing in advance about transportation, currency, useful apps, and more will help you avoid any surprises during your precious, limited time in a new country.
✨ The second half explores the different destinations in Italy. It lays out a recommended itinerary for each city. But more importantly, it highlights the nitty-gritty details about their most significant stops so that you can immediately start acting on the bookings in your trip planning.
✨ Pay close attention to the *Travel Smart tips* in each section.
✨ Each day's itinerary has been tried, tested, and optimized based on lessons learned, so you don’t have to make the same mistakes and waste your vacation time.
✨ Look for links to booking resources and websites throughout the guide.
✨ All spots in the guide are mapped and categorized. You can filter them and click on them to review the official website and address. You can also open the places in your Google Maps and save them during your planning.

It's a city full of history and monuments, with all buildings being ancient, many left to the elements and ruined, but still beautiful. There's a castle, a river, a stunning parliament, and many unique bridges; there are many more places to eat well and uniquely than in Milan, it's inexpensive, and everything is accessible on foot, or at most with some means of transportation, which work very well. In short, yes, it's worth visiting!

It's hard to think of an Italian meal without thinking of a wine to enjoy it with, and the food and wine in Italy could arguably be two of the top reasons to travel there.
Pairing your meal with the perfect wine makes the dining experience that much more enjoyable so to take the guesswork out of what will pair best, the following is a brief guide to some of Italy's most renowned regional dishes, spanning from north to south, along with a few recommended wine pairings for each.
Whether you're dining at an Italian restaurant at home or exploring local eateries in Italy, this guide will help you avoid becoming overwhelmed by extensive wine lists if you are unsure what to look for.
In Italy, feel free to also ask the waiter or sommelier for recommendations on what to drink with your food. They are likely to suggest a wine from the region you are in, not only to help support local wine growers and producers, but also so you have the chance to experience the authentic flavors of the area through both the food and the wine.
⭐️PRO TIP - While dining out, if you plan to enjoy wine with your meal but haven't decided on what you will be eating yet, start with a glass of sparkling wine. This way, you'll have something to sip on while reviewing the food and wine menus and making your choice. Sparkling wine is an excellent palate cleanser to prep you for a savory meal, and Italy has some of the best.
Buon Apetito!

Let's say you're travelling in North of Italy more specifically in Lombardy and you want to take something special back home that has to tick these 3 boxes for you:
- be sustainable = ethical & eco-friendly or vintage
- locally produced that reminds you of the place you've been to
- unordinary = simply unique
Well you're in the right place! It's all in here!
You'll also find -what I call- some SOS stores which are general stores selling essential eco-friendly products that you might need during your travels like: face cream, deodorant, tooth brush & paste, solid shampoo & conditioner, menstrual cup etc...
And how can I not include some vegan & vegetarian cafes & restaurants to stop by while strolling around the Italian "viette".
So what are you waiting for? Plan your trip and keep this map with you while exploring your next destination!
PS don't forget to download the thatch app & save this map for an easy use while there 🌀
