Let's start with the most popular city in Lombardy: Milan.

For me It was a love-and-hate relationship but once you know where to go (after visiting the Duomo) to avoid the most "commercial" area I'm sure you'll fall in love too. You can easily plan your trip around following this map that will take you to the coolest areas of the city full of local people -and less tourists- to experience a proper Milanese day. Enjoy.

It's perfect for low-medium budget shopping and to find something unique. The owners are the same of Balera dell'Ortica, a special -and my favourite- place to visit in Milan during happy hour time to dance & sing all night long in a very Italian style.

Another beautiful city not to miss in Lombardy is Bergamo. It's divided in two parts: Bergamo bassa (low part of the city) and Bergamo alta (high part of the city). The first one is more modern and you can find many nice shops & restaurants while the second one is more historical with characteristic little streets to discover.

Around half an hour from Bergamo by car or by train you can find this special Forno who won the famous "Tre Pani" prize and it's one of the best bakery in Italy. Worth a visit to try their sourdough bread or pizza al taglio and of course to have a chat with the lovely owner, Marisol.

Laura, Luna & Ludovica created the perfect place to get small souvenirs like handmade jewerly, illustrations prints or natural printed scarfs, just to mention some of their selection but also some sustainable clothing. Plus it's located in a very traditional and historical city called Chiari. Visit the city centre by walk and do not miss Villa Mazzotti and its park.
