I love visiting and supporting new, trendy bars and restaurants but sometimes I just want the classics, done perfectly. These restaurants are not fancy and are not the places to go to if you are looking for a particularly quick meal, but, you will find high-quality food and wine and a lively, local atmosphere. Here are my five favorite places to go when I want a home-cooked Tuscan meal (but do not want to cook it in my home!).

Sometimes, the Gulf Stream provides moderate temperatures. Other times, it’ll feel like you’re in the Arctic. Also don’t forget the long, dark winters and the 24-hour daylight during the short summers.
