Day 1:
Start your journey in Brisbane, the vibrant capital city of sunny Queensland. Kick off your day with a hearty brekkie at a local café. Brisbane’s coffee culture is top-notch, so make sure to grab a cup of joe before you hit the town.
Head over to South Bank Parklands, a riverside oasis that offers a stunning city backdrop. Take a leisurely stroll along the river promenade and dip your toes at Streets Beach, a unique human-made beach in the heart of the city.
Brisbane comes alive at night! And one of the best ways to enjoy the city views is to visit one of the many rooftop bars that offer drinks, food and entertainment. Some of the most popular rooftop destinations are The Terrace by Emporium Hotel, Fiume Rooftop Bar, Cielo Rooftop and Lina Rooftop.
South Bank Parklands

At South Bank’s pristine Parklands, you can swim at the famous Streets Beach – a picturesque pool with unrivalled city skyline views or, relax on South Bank Parklands’ sprawling almost 15 hectares of lawns, complete with free barbeques, licensed picnic areas and two lively playgrounds.
The hungry among us will also find dozens of eateries dotted throughout the precinct.
For those seeking a bit of culture and adventure, look no further than South Bank’s Cultural Precinct (comprised of the Queensland Art Gallery and the Gallery of Modern Art, the State Library of Queensland, the Queensland Museum, and the Queensland Performing Arts Centre) and a bustling year-round events calendar.

Streets Beach

A South Bank icon, Streets Beach is a must-visit while you’re in the Parklands. It is Australia’s only inner-city, human-made beach and it boasts a sparkling lagoon surrounded by white, sandy beaches and sub-tropical plants.
Aquativity, a fun and interactive water-play park, is a great location for children and families to play, learn and enjoy the outdoors. It features a range of educational play elements that reference the Brisbane River, local catchments, native fish and mammal species (such as mullet and dugong), and the water cycle.
Or head down to the Boat Pool on any given day and you’ll see people of all ages splashing around in the cool, blue water and lapping up some of Queensland’s famous sunshine.
Streets Beach, Aquativity and the Boat Pool are free to use and are patrolled by qualified lifeguards all year round (lifeguard hours change throughout the year).
