When people ask me what my favorite country is for travel, I tell them the Philippines. From canyoneering your way to a Gatorade-blue waterfall, swimming with the world’s largest fish, diving WWII shipwrecks and so much more, this will be a trip you won’t want to leave your camera at home for. Best of all, the country is inhabited by some of the friendliest people you will ever meet and they speak English! The Philippines is a country made up of over 7,000 tropical islands which is one of greatest things about the Philippines, but also one of the biggest challenges of visiting. Having traveled the country several times, I have created the perfect itinerary for you to experience this country and save yourself an extremely overwhelming planning process. Let’s make your trip to the Philippines the best trip ever.
This guide includes:
- Cebu guide
- Palawan guide
- Tablas & Romblon guide
- Siargao guide
- Regional Orientation
- Philippines 101

The best markets in Australia: Great food, souvenirs and much more!
We do love a good local market! Being 'in town' on the right day to catch market day is crucial - sometimes they're daily (or nightly!), some are on Saturdays or Sundays, and some are only on every second weekend or so. So do plan ahead - and don't miss out! We love wandering around and checking out the local products and wares - especially the food!!
We're pretty biased and think Salamanca Market in Lutruwita/Tasmania is the best market in the world! Yesssss we know Barcelona's La Rambla Market is pretty darn impressive and we've been to some epic markets in Asia and South America too, but Nipaluna/Hobart packs well above its weight with an amazing local arts, craft and artisan scene, very talented buskers and of course the food is amazing! You can also pick up great handmade souvenirs as well as locally grown fruit, veg and other produce.
Australia's markets are not to be missed. Wander through the stalls and rub shoulders with locals and tourists alike. And, of course, in Australia markets are safe (no pick pockets!), are generally accessible (check the website links below for more!) and many are committed to sustainability with biodegradable, recycled or reusable packaging and no single-use plastics in sight.
Feel good by supporting local businesses and artists. And if you do feel the need to buy souvenirs - check the labelling and make sure you are buying locally made products whenever you can.
OK now we're craving a papaya salad at sunset at Mindil Market in Darwin!!

Budapest is a super affordable, yet rich in Hungarian history, architecture & culture. Many people visit for a long weekend. However Hungary is way more than just goulash & Budapest. 1 hour away from the city and you're in another world. In an ASIAN world. 🎎
We spent one of our favorite autumn weekends in Cserhát-mountain, when our little girl was 1 year old. The best part of this weekend was that we visited these locations following a special Asian theme. The itinerary is totally toddler-approved!
My husband and I have loved Asia for a decade now. He lived in Japan, and I have a deep connection with South-Korea. Needless to say, with such a background, everything Asian related is a little closer to our hearts.
