Above is a picture of my dad and I snorkeling in the crystal clear waters of the Sifra rift in between two tectonic plates. Snorkeling is one of my favorite memories from our 10 day father-daughter trip to Iceland in June 2022.
I’ve used our experience to develop a family friendly itinerary with activities that entertain from energetic teenager to an adult in their 50s.
This itinerary includes a full 10 day plan with a packing list and links to companies that we tested and used including: rib boats, the blue lagoon, geysers, puffins, whale watching, snowmobiling on glaciers, snorkeling Sifra, hotels, and restaurants.
This itinerary is tried and tested, covering Iceland’s southern regions in addition to its capital Reykjavik. Other stops include the Golden Circle, Diamond Beach, Geldingalir Volcano, and Skogafoss.

In this guide, I'll share with you all the budget hostels I stayed at around the world and my honest opinion about them.
Most of my travels I did as a solo female traveller. And hostels were often the best option - cheap, safe, great places to meet another traveller.

This is the itinerary I created for myself for my solo road trip along the South coast of Iceland in mid-January. Of course, it applies to group trips, too, while it assumes you are arriving to KEF airport on the west.

Iceland is one of those countries that you could spend weeks in, but if you're like me and you don't have unlimited PTO, you're all about maximizing your time. I spent time in Iceland over a long weekend, and definitely had the time of my life.

Iceland is a beautiful place to visit year-round, with the activities changing depending on the time of year you choose to visit. The warmer months are fun to explore this country because the summer sun creates a never-ending amount of time for adventures, seeing the puffin community, and hitting all the must-sees while not worrying about snow.
This guide will give you the best places to hit in town and around the island whether you are planning for day trip excursions, road-tripping around Ring Road, or sticking to one section. This is the list of can't-miss things and places while visiting!
The list below is packed with many options on how to plan for a summer trip to Iceland. First and foremost, you will not be able to see everything on this list if you are going for a week or less, and you will have to make peace with that and get excited to come back. There is so much to do on this island, make sure to give yourself plenty of time for traveling between places and exploring. There are plenty of random pull-offs to explore that might sidetrack from the original plan. Below are tours and activity options to participate in - my suggestion would be to pick 1 or 2 that you are most interested in and make sure to book those.
I have been here several times and there is never a shortage of things to do. If you are looking for a more involved list custom to your desires for the best trip to Iceland, I also offer consultations 1-on-1 to help build the itinerary you desire.
