Chinatown is a must on any visit to New York. With it's incredible history, culture, food, & vibe, visiting Chinatown makes you feel like you've left NYC for the day. Use this guide to get the most out of a day in Chinatown. I've included instructions for how to get to Chinatown, what to eat for breakfast, lunch, & dinner, and where to shop & explore in between. Most of the stops in this food crawl offer Chinese food, because of the heavy Chinese influence in the Flushing area. Most people think of Manhattan’s Chinatown when they think of Chinatown in New York. However, most of the food in Manhattan Chinatown is Cantonese (and yes, it's great!). On the other hand, Flushing is Queens’ Chinatown. It's not necessarily forgotten, but it represents mainland China more. Manhattan’s Chinatown is more compressed, whereas Flushing has a lot of big food halls, grocery stores, and communities so it feels more local. I've also included a bonus map of 15 of my other favorite food spots in Flushing and nearby Murray Hill… in case you happen to still be hungry, or if you ever return to Flushing & just want to try something new! The bonus spots aren't in walking distance the way the ones in the food crawl are. But I wanted to include some food in this guide that wasn't just Chinese, to highlight the Korean, Indian, and Taiwanese demographics that also influence these neighborhoods.

Did you know Big Bend National Park is the #4 rated place in the world to see the stars? This park is so stunning that on clear nights you can see the entire milky way with almost no light pollution. Recently, I checked stargazing off my bucket list and traveled between El Paso and Big Bend on a 5 hour winding road trip. On the way, I discovered all kinds of hidden gems and places worth visiting. In this guide you will find my favorite stops along the west Texas border. In 2014 as a junior in college, I was roped into a two-month summer trip to Istanbul, Turkey. Growing up loving travel but struggling with history, I had no clue what I was getting into—I couldn’t even show you Turkey on a map.
