Paraty is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, nestled in Brazil's stunning Costa Verde. This charming colonial town boasts cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and lush tropical surroundings - and it's my favorite town in Rio de Janeiro.
In the late 17th century, Paraty marked the endpoint of the Gold Route, through which gold was shipped to Europe. Its port was crucial for importing tools and African slaves for the mines. The town built a defense system to protect its wealth.
Today, Paraty's historic center preserves its 18th-century layout and colonial architecture, offering a glimpse into its rich past spanning the 18th and early 19th centuries.
With its rich history, vibrant culture, and picturesque coastline, Paraty offers visitors a unique blend of historical exploration, outdoor adventure, and relaxation by the sea.
Explore its well-preserved architecture, embark on boat tours to nearby islands, or simply unwind on its pristine beaches – Paraty promises a memorable experience for all.
In this guide, you'll find recommendations to fill up at least 4 days of your visit, including logistics, accommodations, dining, and of course, you can contact me if you need a personalized itinerary
Have fun!

Rishikesh is the yoga capital of the world. On the other hand, it is an adventure hub.
Nestled in the mystical embrace of the Himalayas, Rishikesh, a vibrant Indian town, is a haven for seekers, offering a kaleidoscope of ashrams and temples along the Ganges River. Here, the rhythmic chants of yogis harmonize with the adrenaline-fueled thrills of white-water rafting on the Ganges rapids.
Rishikesh is a canvas where mysticism dances with adventure, creating an intoxicating blend that captivates the soul and ignites the spirit.
It has a long history associated with sages, the holy river Ganges, yoga, meditation, and the famous British rock-music band The Beatles.
I have been to Rishikesh innumerable times in my life and I just can't get enough of it!
In this guide, I have listed all the places (excluding adventure), some famous and some hidden gems, in and around Rishikesh! So whether it's serene vibes you are seeking, detox time for your body, or just want to enchanted by the spiritual spirit of the city, this guide will be helpful.

Have you ever wondered why there are so many Indian restaurants in London? India and the UK have a long and unique shared history. Today, 1.8 million people in the UK are of Indian descent, making London one of the largest worldwide hubs for Indian cuisine. Because of the long shared history, Indian cuisine in the UK is also uniquely British. For example, try the bacon naan roll at Dishoom. Below, are some of my personal favourites (I’ve been to all of them) which include both classic Indian cuisine as well as some more modern interpretations.
