Romania is such a beautiful country and it offers so much: the Carpathian mountains, the Black Sea, the Danube Delta, vibrant cities, untouched countryside, castles, medieval cities, fortresses and the list could go on.
As someone who lived in Romania for 18 years and who now lives in NYC, I realized that most people only think of Bucharest and maybe Dracula's Castle when they think of Romania. And unfortunately that's not even scratching the surface of what this incredible country has to offer.
I created this guide to show you all the locations you need to explore so you can plan an epic trip to Romania. The guide is divided into the following categories:
- How to get to Romania
- How to travel inside Romania
- Cities
- Castles
- Lakes
- Scenic roads
- Waterfalls
- Salt mines
- Danube
- Scenic train rides
- Fortresses
- Churches and monasteries
- Roman and Dacian history
- Thermal water spas
- Black Sea resort towns
- Caves
- Other
I hope you visit Romania soon and enjoy its beauty!

Italians are famous for the Dolce Far Niente... sweet doing nothing. I always suggest people build in some time to sit and people watch. The Aperitivo is an art form in Italy and in Florence now, rooftop bars have become a thing. Many are in hotels. You will need a reservation, especially in high season.

This 10 day itinerary and adventure guide to Costa Rica is the result of over 1 month spent exploring the country, dozens of hours of planning, and my in-person experience. It covers 3 regions of Costa Rica: La Fortuna, Santa Teresa, and Dominical/Uvita. These areas include a variety of waterfalls, hot springs, hikes, wildlife, beaches and much more which is why I decided to focus on these 3 specifically!
The guide includes an fun features such as an interactive map, directions that connect directly to your phoneโs Google or Apple Maps app, and the exact coordinates to some of my favorite hidden gems & activities.
It lays out instructions to help you plan your perfect trip to this area including over 35 accommodation suggestions plus where I stayed myself, 13 waterfall locations, 4 hot springs experiences, 4 hiking destinations, 7 beautiful beaches, boat tours & island day trips, direct links to every resource you could need, exclusive photos and videos from me, and so much more! Itโs mobile friendly when you download the Thatch App for free so you can easily access all of the info right from your phone!

I have hand-crafted this guide specifically for adventure travelers (like me!) and feel so confident you will have an amazing trip with this guide by your side ๐ As a part of your purchase of the guide, here are a few promises I can make you:
1. This is a LIVING guide: I will update it as I find more information and discover more places which means you have lifetime access to all updated information as itโs added!
2. I only make guides based on areas I have not only been to but know well! I have spent over 4 weeks exploring Costa Rica in order to narrow down the destinations & experiences I share in this guide. I include both activities that I have done myself as well as those that are on my bucketlist for next time I visit! I will always call out the ones I have not done yet and provide you the exact resources you need to experience them yourself!
3. These guides are completely transparent! You can be sure that all unfiltered opinions I provide are my own ๐ If I include any sponsored information or affiliate links, I will be sure to call these out directly. I will only include these if they benefit you (such as a discount code or coupon!)
Finally, this is the first time that I am releasing one of my photo presets!!! The preset comes for free included with this guide so you can edit all of your trip photos with that Costa Rica vibe - think rich blues, deep forest greens, and just a touch of grain. These are exclusively for my travel guides as I do not nor have I ever sold them anywhere else!

Hello, fellow traveler!
Thank you for choosing my shop to help you have a fantastic trip to Iceland. This was stop 1 on my 8-weeks of fun backpacking trip, aka my quarter-life crisis trip. My best friend Ally and I did a 3-day road trip when we went backpacking for two months in 2023. We regretted not staying longer, so I have the road trip Ally, and I did, plus a 5-day for you because I recommend at least 5 days for Iceland. If you can swing it, I recommend doing the entire ring road. Iceland is f*** epic and wasn't as expensive as people made it out to be.

Everything you need to know about booking your own trip to turkey with cost saving hacks
Know about the Visa -
If you have a UK/ US or Schengen visa, then you can get a e visa in less than 3 mins and the cost is approx 35-40$. But in case u don't have, the documentation is elaborate and it costs about 17k. I would suggest you apply for a UK or Schengen visa and then apply for Turkey visa, so u get 2 country visa for cost of 1 and you travel to Turkey and UK or any other Schengen country.
Flights ๐ซ from India
The most economical flight option would be Air Arabia, followed closely by Indigo with direct flights from Delhi or Mumbai but considering the potential delays , I would avoid this. Etihad or Emirates would be the next best offering reliable alternatives. IST airport in Istanbul has plenty of flights and would be the optimal choice to land in Istanbul.
Where to Stay ?
We debated a lot, whether to stay in the old city or the Bosphorous side but eventually ended up at the old city side and regretted our decision. I would recommend to stay around the Galata tower as the surroundings are fantastic offering a blend of the typical modern city vibes with charming European aesthetics. With quaint cafes, English pubs with live music to small boutiques for shopping, the area excludes a vibe that we thoroughly enjoyed. In Cappadocia, i would recommend staying in Gerome as you would get close up views of the balloons, restaurants and nightlife. This is great for visitors without a car as everything would be at a walkable distance. Must visit around this vicinity is the Umbrella street and rainbow street.
How to commute in Turkey ?
We organized our airport transfers through this website. It was the most economical option, given our big group size of 8 with 2 big suitcases each. It costed about 35 euros/40$ for one way transfers(for 4 people) . Despite our flight getting delayed for over 3 hours, the transport service folks were still waiting for us. You can also use Uber app or Taksi app for local taxis. But please be mindful that you need to pay through the local currency (Turkish Lira) for this option.
We were fortunate enough to find a remarkable cab driver there by name Engin (+90 5315661672)during our time in Istanbul. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible in Istanbul. He even arranged taxis for us in Cappadocia and helped us with all our transfers. We highly recommend his services to anyone visiting Istanbul.

Madeira is a paradise on earth. The once volcanic islands create lush and beautiful mountains. The main city on the island - Funchal - is home to 300,000 people whose homes cascade down the hillside into the Atlantic Ocean. Breathtaking, stunning, and one of the most pleasant places you can visit in all of Europe.
The city of Funchal is a mix of colonial style architecture (more typical of Brazil than Portugal) and modern pockets dedicated to the tourism industry. Regardless of where you find yourself, you'll find a beautiful view of the mountains.
This guide is perfect to see the main sites of Funchal. Whether you are stopping on a cruise and only have a day, you are adding a few days on the island to a trip to Portugal, or you are just going for the weekend, this guide provides a bunch of the highlights to be seen in and around the city.

Right in the between Madrid and Barcelona Zaragoza is an incredible city, but often gets over looked. The best way to describe Zaragoza is that it's 'un pueblo en grande', meaning that while it is a bigger city in Spain, it maintains that small-town feel. Because you don't often hear about Zaragoza, you'll be surprised with everything that it offers from the friendly people, to the tasty dishes, and its incredible architecture!

The hustle and bustle of Napoli is enchanting. The street food, the throngs of people, the array of enticing aromas, and the bustling traffic blend seamlessly with the city's stunning churches and palazzos, often tucked away behind unassuming doors on narrow streets. Naples does what it does and it expects you to keep up with it from the moment you land.
