I KNOW this is a hot take, and I swear I love Germany with all my heart, but Belgium has the best beer hands down. Not to mention the frites (fries), the chocolate, and the waffles. I have been to many a European city and my tastebuds were happiest in Belgium by far. As an ode to the country (and hopefully as a way to convince you to add Belgium to your next trip), I've created this guide of some of my favorite bars & restaurants I tried throughout the country!
For my plant-based besties out there: Many of these places offer vegan options. Some of them are 100% vegetarian or vegan, or have a separate menu catering to those diets. I always struggle when traveling to places with very meat-heavy traditional cuisine because I want to participate in the culture while honoring my diet. Belgium was one of the BEST countries when it came to catering to my needs. Not only did they offer plant-based food, I was able to find plant-based versions of the traditional food (this is really hard sometimes!). You can enjoy the local flavor guilt-free!
This guide includes places in Brussels, Ghent, & Antwerp.
Belgium is one of my favorite countries. If you'd like a personalized guide to Belgium or want to chat about your upcoming European adventure, check out my travel services! I work with you 1-on-1 to create the trip of a lifetime. Feel free to email me with any questions at autumnmarietravels@gmail.com.
Pssst...If you buy this guide, I'll give you 20% off one of my travel services if you book it within the same week!!

Auckland's West Coast is often overlooked by travellers as you need a car to reach it and explore everything. When I visited, it exceeded my expectations and I fell in love with this rugged and wild coastline. The West Coast is part of the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park and is home to stunning black sand beaches, lush rainforest with waterfalls, one of NZ's most popular surf beaches and a gannet colony.
It is not far from Auckland but you will feel like entering a completely different world. This remote and untamed region is more than worth a visit and will for sure casts its spell over you.
A magical place that you should not miss out on and that can also be explored on a day trip if you have a tight schedule.
I'd also be grateful for any support in the way of:

One of the things that is so great about Australia? Whatever the Australians do, it seems to be impossible for them to disappoint you when it comes to coffee ☕. They simply have the best coffee in the world. Even at places where you might expect the worst. Although, do not take my opinion as a fact; I have not been everywhere yet, but from my experience and the shared opinions of other people I met throughout my travels, it could be true.
So, when the coffee is good, we start paying attention to the details. How is the presentation? Is there beautiful latte art? Does my to-go cup look cute? All totally unrelated to the quality of the coffee. But let’s be honest right here: we all think coffee tastes better when there is a beautifully designed swan in our cup.
That’s why this map of recommendations focuses on the coffee places along the East Coast that provide that little extra. The ones that will make you remember drinking that delicious latte and make you want to visit them again.
This map is for the traveler who, just like me, is exploring the highlights of the East Coast at a quick pace and does not want to waste one single cup of coffee along the journey.
📍 Covered destinations in this map: Melbourne, Sydney, Byron Bay, Noosa.

Bordeaux is the wine capital of France (and arguably the world) - so it's easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of wine bar options!
Whether it's your first time or you're a connoisseur looking to deepen your experience, below is a local's honest guide to the most well-known and adored wine bars in Bordeaux.
Wherever you choose to go, you'll not be disappointed by the quality of the wine, and there are less tourist traps than you would think. People in France take pride in their wine and local sellers expect that tourists may be experienced in tasting.
As a little pro tip, it's good to remember that 2014, 2015 and 2022 were good years for wine production in the region.
Get ready to enjoy your reds, whites or rosés as an aperitif or with dinner and remember to drink responsibly!

The East Cape of New Zealand is a slow-paced remote and rugged coastal region known for its unspoiled beauty. It's home to stunning landscapes, with rolling hills, secluded beaches, and dramatic cliffs. The area is rich in Maori culture and offers a peaceful and tranquil escape, perfect for those looking for relaxation in nature and get away from the hustle and bustle.
As it is such a remote area, it is not much visited by travellers, especially international tourists. So if you're looking for an off the beaten track destination, this is the perfect place for you.
My guide shows you the most beautiful places to see, accommodation options as well as recommendations on where to eat and I've included some of my own pictures as well.

🏝️There is a Last Paradise on earth, or at least that's what Raja Ampat in Indonesia is nicknamed. From experience I can tell that this archipelago is truly a paradise. White sand beaches lined with palm trees, sipping coconuts on your overwater bungalow where you fall asleep to the soothing sound of the waves, an exceptional jungle wildlife that includes the bird of paradise and the spotted cuscus and a view that's so iconic it made it on the nation's 100.000 Rupiah bill.
🐠Raja Ampat is part of the Coral Triangle and awaits you with the highest marine biodiversity in the world, where about 75 % of the world's species live, making this stunning underwater world every snorkeler's and diver's dream.
Don't miss out on an escape to paradise before it's too late!
As Raja Ampat is such a remote place, there are quite a few things you need to organize in advance and be aware of.
I spent lots of hours doing research, finding the best spots, gathering contacts and bringing together all the necessary information to have a great time in Raja Ampat and to be prepared perfectly. I had an amazing time!
Safe yourself all this hassle and get my detailed and complete guide here to set you up for an unforgettable experience in the Last Paradise. Are you ready to go?
📖My comprehensive guide includes everything you need to know from important information on how to prepare, how to get there, accommodation recommendations with contacts to money saving tips, a cost overview of how much I excatly spent in 3,5 weeks and much more.
📸I also included my own pictures for you to get a better understanding of the place.
📍And if you like, you can even use this guide as an exact travel route, deciding individually how many days you want to spend on each island.

When it comes to cities with the best cafe culture, I think Seoul takes the cake.
Explore over 30 of the most Instagram-worthy cafes in Seoul with this guide to unique cafes.
CONTENTS:
✅ USEFUL INSIGHTS
Before you start cafe-hopping in Seoul, there are some things you should know (tipping culture, cafe etiquette in South Korea, opening times and more).
☕️ ORGANISED BY NEIGHBOURHOOD

🫡 HONEST OPINIONS
Life's too short for bad cake and coffee. While these are all beautiful, I've included my 🫡 honest foodie experience too, so you can make informed decisions about whether to go or not.
🌱 VEGAN OPTIONS
They're very limited, folks - but when I've found vegan cafes in Seoul (or vegan options), I've include a note with a little 🌱 plant emoji.
🗺️ INTERACTIVE MAP
🔗 Google maps doesn't work well in Seoul but not to worry: I've included Naver Map links for every cafe on the list.
