USEFUL INSIGHTS
Before you start cafe-hopping in Seoul, there are some things you should know (tipping culture, cafe etiquette in South Korea, opening times and more).
βοΈ ORGANISED BY NEIGHBOURHOOD
There are almost 100,000 cafes in Seoul -- so, it goes without saying: This isn't a masterlist. Instead, it's a curated collection.
I've included a handful of cafes in:
- Yeonnam-dong | μ°λ¨λ
- Hongdae | νλ
- Yongsan | μ©μ°
- Gangnam | κ°λ¨
- Seongsu | μ±μ
- Ikseon-dong | μ΅μ λ
- Anguk | μκ΅
- 1 cafe near Gyeongbok Palace (Sagan-dong | μ¬κ°λ)
π«‘ HONEST OPINIONS
Life's too short for bad cake and coffee. While these are all beautiful, I've included my π«‘ honest foodie experience too, so you can make informed decisions about whether to go or not.
π± VEGAN OPTIONS
They're very limited, folks - but when I've found vegan cafes in Seoul (or vegan options), I've include a note with a little π± plant emoji.
πΊοΈ INTERACTIVE MAP
π Google maps doesn't work well in Seoul but not to worry: I've included Naver Map links for every cafe on the list.

Useful tips
Before you take to the streets of South Korea's capital city for cafe hopping, here's what you need to know:
Cafe hours
Most cafes in South Korea βοΈ open after 10h00 (with some opening as late as 12h00). But they stay open later too. Cafes in Seoul often remain open π as late as 22h00 or 23h00.Β
Waiting times β°
Popular cafes get busy (really, really busy). I've heard stories (let's call them nightmares) of friends waiting over an hour for a table.Β
There's no secret to avoiding all the queues but I've never waited more than 25 minutes.Β Here are 4Β tips to avoid queues at Seoul coffee shops.Β
