With dramatic landscapes, towering red rock formations, picturesque canyons, and shimmering blue lakes, the American Southwest is a must-visit destination for outdoor enthusiasts and there’s no better way to see it than a road trip! This road trip itinerary takes you through some of the most incredible scenery in the United States, including Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Lake Powell, Monument Valley, and Sedona. Here’s exactly what you can expect from my American Southwest Road Trip guide 👇
This guide is the result of hours upon hours of planning, research, and my in-person lessons-learned over 2 different trips to the region. The guide includes fun features such as an interactive map, directions that connect directly to your phone’s Google or Apple Maps app, and the exact coordinates to some of my favorite hidden gems & hiking trails. (Please note – this guide focuses heavily on hiking if that’s not your thing, it may not be the best guide for you)
It lays out instructions to help you plan your perfect trip to this area including:
1. Over 25 outdoor activities (including 19 incredible hikes, the best places to catch sunrise and sunset, slot canyon tours, my favorite kayaking experience I have ever done, secret natural red rock swimming holes, cave hikes with beautiful vistas, and more!)
2. 50+ accommodation suggestions including luxury glamping experiences, upscale airstream rentals, treehouses, cabins with unreal views, tiny home villages, a famous off-the-grid “Kyoob” on a working Navajo sheep ranch, unique AirBnBs, park and private campgrounds for tent or camper van parking, and exactly where I stayed during my own trip!
3. Information and links on how to apply for permits to some of the most famous hikes in the country
4. What airport to fly in and out of, car rental suggestions, and camper van rental sites (if you want to turn this into a camper van road trip!)
5. Hyperlinks to every resource you could need to book your trip directly from the guide
6. Behind the scenes exclusive photos and videos from me
Plus it’s mobile friendly when you download the Thatch App for free so you can easily access all of the info right from your phone!
I have hand-crafted this guide specifically for adventure travelers (like me!) and feel so confident you will have an amazing trip with this guide by your side 😏 As a part of your purchase of the guide, here are a few promises I can make you:
1. This is a LIVING guide: I will update it as I find more information and discover more places which means you have lifetime access to all updated information as it’s added!
2. I only make guides based on areas I have not only been to but know well! I include both activities that I have done myself as well as those that are on my bucketlist for next time I visit! I will always call out the ones I have not done yet and provide you the exact resources you need to experience them yourself!
3. These guides are completely transparent! You can be sure that all unfiltered opinions I provide are my own 🙃 If I include any sponsored information or affiliate links, I will be sure to call these out directly. I will only include these if they benefit you (such as a discount code or coupon!)

From exploring the iconic Acropolis and its awe-inspiring monuments to savoring traditional cuisine in charming neighborhoods, and immersing yourself in Athens' lively nightlife, you'll discover the diverse facets that make this city truly special.
This guide is divided into the following categories:
1. what to do for each day (archeological sites, neighborhoods you need to visit, activities to do)
2. where to eat & drink (includes 6 restaurants, 6 all-day cafes/bars),
3. where to party (nightlife in Athens).
It is suitable for both winter and summer visitors.
A curated list of recommendations like this unlike an itinerary offers flexibility and allows travelers to choose based on their available time. However, the way I listed the activities by day allows for a manageable time-based plan.
It includes a map and insight notes such as a place description, the address, the opening hours, the ticket prices, the official website to book your tickets (If needed), and some tips for your visit.

Intro:
Since I was a kid (born and raised in Rome) I heard of Romans barely eating around City Centre.
We were raised with the idea that is pricy and quality is just average.
With this guide I want to lead you in the narrow roads of the City to find hidden gems, as well as "locals-approved" touristic locations.
How to Use:
Each location will have the following information:
a. In the title:
- Local / Historic (☆☆☆☆☆) - Touristic, yet good (☆)
- Super cheap (€) - Luxury (€€€€€)
- Restaurant (R) | Take away (TA) | At the counter (C) | Ethnic (E) | Vegan (V)
b. In the description:
- The specialty of the house (highlighted in the first picture)
- Nearby monument / museum / famous area
- Must know information
All historic locations have undergone Nonna's approval :)
The guide also includes well known restaurants coming from the culinary tradition of:
- Persia, India, China, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Mexico, Argentina, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Syria, Lebanon, Greece, Austria.

On the southeastern coast of Sicily, with an history that spans three millennia, lies the city of Siracusa (Syracuse). At its peak it was one of the most important city of the Mediterranean and, according to Cicero, it was also "the most beautiful of all". Today, traces of history can be found all over the city but the highest concentration of monuments is on the island of Ortigia, the historic center of the city.
This walking tour includes:
- 🥾 Step by step directions guiding you to all the most important sites in Ortigia
- 🗺️ Information about what you will see along the tour
- 🛏️ Practical suggestions, including hotels, to help you plan your trip
Walking around Ortigia you will explore the ruins of Greek temples, Baroque monuments and churches, hidden remnants of the Jewish past in the city, a Norman castle, stunning views of the natural harbor of Siracusa and of the open Mediterranean, and much more!

We venture further into the desert in the Land Rover Defender 110 Hi-Cap, settling in for the week near Ajo, Arizona. I set off into Organ Pipe National Monument to go on a mountain hike, featuring a stunning natural arch. I take the truck out to do some exploring in the lovely Sonoran Desert. Following windy conditions and a rough night in the ground tent, I retreat back to the Winnebago Revel, spill coffee, and spend the day in bed, grumpy and high-maintenance. Orangie update toward the end of video!
