6 Copenhagen Musts
💡 Save my Google Maps list before your trip so you can easily see all my recommended spots in one place! Plus, it’s great to save for when you’re in a new area looking for somewhere to go, you can quickly see what’s nearby & recommended.
1. Enjoy a meal at Seks
I ended up here for brunch twice. I’m partial to the spot because they have an amazing neon sign that says “redheads do it better” (which is a fact 👩🦰). The cafe is vibrant and colorful, full of inspiration and mementos from the owners travels. PS. the wifi password is “yesyesyes”
2. Visit the Ny Carlsberg Glyptoteket
The museum’s collection consists primarily of “works of art and archaeological objects from Ancient Egypt, the worlds of Ancient Greece and Rome, Etruscan Culture, as well as Danish and French art of the 19th century.” I was lucky enough to see a special exhibition, The Art of Conserving a Masterpiece, featuring Edgar Degas’ Little Dancer Aged 14 (1881), a classic.
A new favorite by Danish artist Harald Giersing:
Portrait Sketch of Albert Naur (1916)
3. Experience winter bathing (sauna session required!)
Ok ok ok so I sort of chickened out on this one and just spent the day at Aire Ancient Baths instead (where I did do a cold plunge!) but if you’re going to Copenhagen do as the Danes do and take a nice dip in one of the many public swimming areas.
4. Snag some vintage from Lula’s
So grateful I stumbled into this shop - hadn’t read about it or had it recommended! I’m obsessed with my new mint green leather pants and cobalt blue pumps from here. Decent prices and an amazing designer selection. The pants 👇
5. Get a glimpse of the history of design at the Designmuseum Denmark
The newly renovated museum explores design from the past, present and future. The space was way bigger than I expected, and it was interesting to see how Danish design has influenced so much around us.
Rasmus Koch: Superflex (2002)
6. Grab a frozen amaretto sour at Ruby
Another spot that I ended up going back to multiple times. Please go. And befriend your bartenders 🍸
