In the past decade, the Copenhagen food scene has really exploded. From the high-end food scene, to the cozy cafés selling the local BMO (scroll to find out what it is!) - you definitely won't leave this city hungry. But you'll probably be a little bit broke.

I know what you're thinking...I can't wait to eat some Danishes! Well, guess what? In Denmark, these laminated pastries are called wienerbrød or in English "Vienna bread". Why you ask? Austrian bakers brought the technique of laminated dough to Denmark in the mid-1800s after Danish bakers went on strike. Luckily, København has some amazing bakeries.

Seks Bakery & Eatery

Seks Bakery combines Danish tradition with a modern twist, offering freshly baked goods and superb coffee. The atmosphere is minimalist and stylish, perfect for a quick pastry and caffeine fix. A favorite among locals for its high-quality baked goods and strong espresso.

Inspired by their travels, this eclectic café is run by a lovely Polish couple and is one of the few places nestled in the city center that I recommend visiting. Great vibes, and their extensive collection of cookbooks is my dream. 

for an unforgettable experience, go get some seks. we recommend having it with friends in the morning, if you catch our drift… on a more serious note, this is the place for a cozy breakfast with an unbelievably cool menu. 

A vibrant and colorful cafe/restaurant, full of inspiration and mementos from the owners travels. Worthy of multiple visits when in CPH! The wifi password is “yesyesyes” 

One of my fave cafes in the city. Their middle-eastern inspired menu is also to die for.

Seks is known for its Polish-style cheesecake so that's just what I tried.
