Temples
With a lot of temples, there are some that are here because everyone goes there, but there are also areas here that aren't visited often.
2 things to take note of:
1. Dress modestly. Safest rule of thumb is to keep your shoulders and knees covered.
2. Most temples are closed on Mondays, always double check when you are visiting.
Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan
@taralets_
Worth visiting the temple by the river to see how it looks like. There might be a lot of tourists here but how grand everything looks is always worth going for.

Wat Pho
@taralets_
Also known as Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan. Most famous for the leaning buddha, worth going to early in the morning to avoid the lines and to be able to check the mini temples within.

The Grand Palace
@taralets_
Also known as the Royal Grand Palace has a minimal entrance fee and you may also find Wat Phra Kaew or The Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Take in the architecture but also the paintings on the wall.
There are also smaller temples in the outskirts, worth checking out. They are quiet, peaceful and the locals are always welcoming.

Wat Saket (Golden Mountain)
@taralets_
A temple worth the hike! They say that the temple is put high up to help wishes and prayers be heard better.
The hike up is paved and has stairs put in so the challenge is if you have any fear of heights.

Ayutthaya
@taralets_
Highly recommend to do a DIY tour of the place - just so you can control the pace and see more than what tours have to offer.

Parks & Monuments
In the bustling city they always manage to find some peace by putting in a park. Drop by, take a beat and breath in that fresh air.
Saranrom Park
@taralets_
Worth walking through the park and see how the locals enjoy the simple things.

Chao Phraya Sky Park
@taralets_
Once a bridge for cars to pass through but transformed to a park-cross walk for pedestrians/bikers. Extremely PWD/bike friendly. An amazing sight of the river and the sunset!

Bangkok Art and Culture Centre
@taralets_
A free museum is always a plus. Do check if there are any special events because that's when it may have some fee - but other than that, its a great place to check out the variety of art that Bangkok has to offer.
