"Wat Ratchapradit Sathitmahasimaram is a relatively small temple located to the north of Saranrom Park, covering approximately 2 rai. The temple was constructed during the reign of King Rama IV, who envisioned it as part of a tradition to have three major temples within the capital, and specifically to serve the Dhammayutika Sect. The site was originally a royal coffee plantation during the reign of King Rama III. With a personal donation, King Rama IV purchased the plantation and had a small temple built there, initially naming it Wat Ratchapradit Sathitthammayutikaram. The name was later changed to Wat Ratchapradit Sathitmahasimaram.
One of the temple’s key attractions is the Phra Wihan Luang, or royal image hall, which features mural paintings illustrating "The Royal Ceremonies over 12 Months" as well as a depiction of the solar eclipse phenomenon. The temple remains a serene and historically significant location, offering free admission and open to visitors daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m."
