You can’t walk its streets without feeling the weight of its past. • The 1914 Assassination: Sarajevo made headlines worldwide when Gavrilo Princip’s fateful shot at Archduke Franz Ferdinand set off World War I. It’s a defining moment etched into the city’s story. • Ottoman Legacy: Stroll through Sarajevo and you’ll see the influence of the Ottomans in its mosques, old bazaars, and unique blend of cultures.
