Need budget-friendly activities in Paris? We’ve got you covered! Here are the top five free things to do in Paris that won't cost you a cent.
1. Explore Montmartre
Wander the charming streets of Montmartre, the artistic heart of Paris. Stroll through Place du Tertre to see artists at work, visit the stunning Sacré-Cœur Basilica for panoramic views of the city, and explore the quaint cobblestone streets that have inspired countless artists. Don’t forget to check out the Montmartre vineyards, one of the last remaining in Paris.
2. Stroll Along the Seine River
The Seine River is the lifeblood of Paris, and its walkways offer a picturesque setting for a leisurely stroll. Walk along the pathways, admire the iconic bridges, and take in views of landmarks like Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Eiffel Tower. The Seine’s riverbanks are also home to numerous bookstalls (bouquinistes) where you can browse for literary treasures.
3. Visit the Tuileries Garden
Adjacent to the Louvre Museum, the Tuileries Garden is a beautiful and historic public park perfect for a relaxing afternoon.
Wander through the meticulously manicured gardens, enjoy the statues and fountains, and maybe even catch an impromptu performance or art exhibition. It’s a peaceful escape in the heart of the city.
4. Attend a Free Event at the Hôtel de Ville
The Paris City Hall, or Hôtel de Ville, often hosts free cultural events, including art exhibitions, concerts, and festivals.
Check the schedule to see what’s happening during your visit. The building itself is an architectural marvel worth seeing, and its events provide a glimpse into the vibrant cultural life of Paris.
5. Explore the Promenade Plantée
Also known as the Coulée Verte, the Promenade Plantée is a beautiful elevated park built on a former railway line that stretches for nearly 5 kilometers. This green oasis offers a unique perspective of Paris as you walk above the streets and is filled with lush gardens, charming pathways, and scenic views—making it a perfect spot for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Enjoying these free activities is a great way to experience the rich culture and history of Paris without spending a dime. Whether you’re an art lover, history buff, or just looking to soak in the Parisian atmosphere, these spots offer something for everyone.

Torres del Paine National Park located in Chile's Patagonia region is famous for their soaring mountains, glaciers, and bright icebergs. Trekkers frequently take the W Trek or O Circuit to admire the famous granite towers - Torres del Paine and Cuernos del Paine. I hiked in Torres del Paine via the W Trek in January and have compiled my top tips for the park here.
This guide will go over the key things to know in order to hike the W Trek such as the park geography, highlights of the W Trek, the W Trek vs the O Circuit, accommodations on the W Trek, the best time to go, weather, and what to pack.
I have also outline the itinerary I followed for my trek starting with landing in Puerto Natales. I've included what I saw during the hike and things to look out for.
I finish the guide by discussing ways to expand your trip to Southern Argentina including a promo code for my other Patagonia guides.

Ponta Delgada is the capital of the Azores. "Thin Cape" sits on the southwest shore of São Miguel Island, the largest island in the autonomous archipelago. The city was a small fishing village until a 1522 earthquake destroyed Vila Franca do Campo, the island's original capital. Ponta Delgada quickly got an upgrade. Its economy and size grew with the citrus-exporting business. Black-and-white basalt buildings--a bell tower, churches, squares--still fill the city's historic core. New gourmet restaurants and waterfront bars do, too. It's easy to get to know Ponta Delgada by walking, as the narrow streets all eventually lead down to the large marina. Let your Azorean adventure begin!
This detailed guide includes:
Places: neighborhoods
Stay: hotels
Eat: coffee shops, ice cream stands, restaurants
Drink: rooftop bars
Do: botanical gardens, churches, fountains, gates, marinas, public parks, roads, squares, statues, tourist offices

A valley of characteristic villages, not washed by the sea, but characterized by a unique atmosphere.
The Itria Valley is located in the heart of Puglia, between the provinces of Bari, Brindisi and Taranto. You will immediately realize that you have arrived, because you will find yourself immersed among dry stone walls, centuries-old olive trees and... trulli! Yes, the Itria Valley is indeed the area of the trulli. It is no coincidence that one of its most famous villages is Alberobello.
But it is not just the trulli that make this area of Puglia unmissable: between one olive grove and another, villages with timeless charm alternate, the authentic atmosphere that transports visitors on a journey into the past.
It may be due to the white of the buildings, or the vegetation that frames them, but every town, every village in the valley is surrounded by a magical, almost fairy-tale atmosphere.
In this guide we will recommend experiences not to be missed and attractions to visit in the most picturesque villages in the area:
-Alberobello
-Locorotondo
-Ostuni
-Cisternino
-Grottaglie
-Martina Franca
