This short guide focuses on only a fraction of the eastern half of South Philadelphia.
The neighborhoods:
- "East Passyunk" (pronounced PASH-unk by locals) is a residential neighborhood with a lively restaurant scene.
- "Italian Market" is the name of the old Italian neighborhood around 9th street, which still hosts a large outdoor market. Nowadays, the neighborhood is home to many Mexican and Vietnamese immigrants. This is reflected in the diverse cuisines!
- Queen Village and South Street. South street is the border between Center City (not "downtown), and South Philly. This area has an abundance of vintage stores and art galleries and street art. Notably you may see many glass mosaics on stores and homes by Isaiah Zagar, which culminates at the Magic Gardens.

A trip to downtown Charleston can leave you aesthetically overwhelmed- int the best sense. To step back in time and absorb Charleston's history and culture, walk the residential streets in the historic South of Broad district. These colorful homes complete with beautiful ironwork, long side porches with swirling fans, and perfectly manicured flower boxes comprise the original Charleston peninsula neighborhood.
I used to live near here and went on many walks and runs before discovering that some of the most darling streets and special pieces of Charleston history are tucked back in alleyways that are easily overlooked on the first (and second and third) pass. This walking tour guide provides step-by- step instructions on how to find and explore 7 hidden alleyways in downtown Charleston- plus tips on the best places to park, and see out AC or refreshments if you're doing it on a hot Charleston summer day.

There are arguably several dozen bests for each of these categories but I narrowed it down to my absolute faves (and for me close-ish to the south side) bc honestly I just avoid north side traffic at absolutely all costs so there's that. Please don't @ me for leaving off any well deserving establishments ;)

Alabama may not be at the top of most travel wishlists, but the Mobile Bay is an up and coming destination with plenty to offer from antique shops and historic architecture to beautiful beaches and delicious food. This walk is for those that love history, food, and culture, and the idea of taking your time to immerse yourself in one thing and doing it really well. Lafayette is a north-south street in Manhattan named after the Marquis de Lafayette, the French aristocrat and hero of the American Revolutionary War. It begins at the intersection of Reade and Centre Street and runs thru Chinatown, NoLIta, NoHo and ends near Astor Place.

This is a 1-day itinerary around Manhattan to make sure you visit as much places as possibile during the day, starting from south of Central park and heading south until reaching Brooklyn bridge 🌉.
It is perfect for you if you have a layover in New York or if it is the starting point of a longer trip.
BUT it could be very useful also as a general guide to split your visit to New York in 2-3 days, dedicating each day to a different part of the city 🏙.
We suggest you to explore the city on foot🚶🏻to really feel all those New York vibes, of course following our guide.
In 8-10 hours you should be able to visit all the places reported in the guide and have a nice lunch, but probably you won't be able to visit anything from the inside (that is a good excuse to come back to New York another time 😉).
So here it is: your full guide to experience New York in 1 day only... and believe us: it will be more than enough to fall in love with this stunning city! 🇺🇸
Let us know what you think and if you want to see how we managed to visit New York in 6 hours, check our Instagram reel on
