I spent hours upon hours researching for the best restaurants to eat at, so you don't have to! Save yourself the hours of scrolling and searching with my detailed guide! In the summer (July 2023) I visited Italy for a month with my intentions set with eating all the foods I have ever dreamed about in Italy. From hand rolled fresh pesto gnocchi to saffron risotto with lamb and gelato you'll think about for days. Actually, all these foods I am convinced you will think about for the rest of your life!
I looked for the hidden local treasures and of course the costly fancy eats while visiting these two cities. When purchasing this guide I will give you exact locations, costs, reservations, recommendations, distances from main attractions, and honest reviews of places I had tried and did not care for! Alot of TikTok's and reels on social media make many of the well know restaurants and quick eats in Italy seem that they are worth every penny ... some are not, and I learned the hard way! Let me help you save money and budget your way through Italy while still eating like royalty along the way!
(13 spots in Rome, 10 spots in Florence)
I will add 7 bonus spots in other cities throughout Italy as well because they were just that good and I can't hide that from people! :)))

30 km north of Rome there's a lively medium-sized town on the coast which is quickly becoming one of roman's most coveted spots. The reasons? The sea, first of all; furthermore, 3 among the most beautiful castles of central Italy within a short drive; even a unique UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In addition to all this (most importantly) the chance to reach Rome in about 20 minutes by train.

There are four classic Roman pasta dishes: carbonara, cacio e pepe, amatriciana, and alla gricia. All such simple recipes that are perfect as they are and should not be tampered with. My rule of thumb has always been, do not order these Roman pastas anywhere else besides Rome. They will just not stand up to the expectations. Romans do these dishes the best. 🍝

Ravenna is a city on the East coast of Italy, a couple of hours south of Venice: it's known as the Capital of Mosaics, a form of art that developed while the city was capital of the Roman Empire and later on during the Byzantine era. The 8 UNESCO heritage sites should be enough to convince you to go visit, but in case they aren't here's 5 reasons why you should:
1. It's CHEAPER than bigger cities like Venice, Florence or Rome, but that doesn't mean it's not as beautiful
2. Staying in a smaller city doesn't mean you won't be able to visit anything else: in fact Ravenna is very WELL CONNECTED by the railway system to multiple major destinations
3. Are you a SEA or MOUNTAIN person? Don't worry, Ravenna has both: 20 minutes east are its beaches, famous for their beach volleyball tournaments, while in the opposite direction you will find the Apennines!
4. Like anywhere else in Italy FOOD isn't the issue: lasagna, cappelletti, "bolognese" sauce, etc. are originally of Emilia Romagna, the region where Ravenna is found
5. Is Italy not enough for you? Apart from being close to Bologna's AIRPORT, Ravenna has also FERRIES that will take you to the Balkans region in no time!

While Italy is synonymous with the delightful tradition of Aperitivo, its cocktail scene is a whole other world waiting to be explored. As a seasoned traveller who appreciates a perfectly crafted drink (and the friendly chat with the bartender that often comes with it), I've had the pleasure of discovering countless incredible cocktail bars across the country. Whether it's a new city I'm visiting or a familiar favourite I'm revisiting, Italy never disappoints.
Lucky for me, Northern Italy is my home base, and it boasts a high concentration of exceptional options. However, the South holds its own when it comes to fantastic cocktail experiences (with Rome leading the charge) This guide represents my curated list of the best-of-the-best, a culmination of expert experiences and the occasional repeat visit for quality assurance (yes, sometimes a second or third try is necessary!).
Italy, after all, is the birthplace of iconic cocktail ingredients like Vermouth, Campari, and Aperol. But its treasure trove extends far beyond, with gems like St. Germain, Amaro, Grappa, Amaretto, Limoncello, and the hospitality worker's secret weapon - Fernet.

Exploring the Magical Benevento Countryside of Campania, Italy
When I first arrived in Guardia, Luigi Orso would pass me in his pickup truck as I was walking around, minding my own business, he'd motion for me to hop in and off we'd go to visit his friends in the countryside.
I never knew where we were headed but it was always an adventure. On one such occasion he drove me to the Santa Lucia church in Sassinoro, a magical, sacred place along the Archangel Michael's lei line.
I went back often seeking the serenity of nature and the Divine. I've since discovered other magical sites in the area which I put together in this guide.
A portion of the proceeds and all tips from this guide will be donated to the Associazione "La Wardia Bbella"
This guide offers an itinerary for a day or weekend trip, to discover hidden gems off the beaten path in the "mystical' Benevento countryside in Campania, Italy. This land, that predates Rome, is rich in tradition and legends of Witches. It also the birthplace of the 'Slow Food Movement'.
Take this lovely excursion from Guardia Sanframondi to the Santa Lucia church built into a mystical cave in Sassinoro and on to the Ruins of Sepino without the crowds of Pompei. Stop along the way to take in the natural scenery and charming villages where you can taste local delicacies.
"Alecia put together this lovely one-day drive through Campania for me and friends visiting from the States. It was absolutely perfect and full of hidden treasures and discoveries. Thanks so much Alecia for this wonderful itinerary, and your excellent recommendations. I simply can't imagine a more wonderful day’s drive of discovery, adventure and fun!"

Italy is where I was born and where I live.
From the Alps to the coast of Sicily, I had the opportunity to travel and discover more about my country.
I was born in Galatina, in Lecce province and the city of pasticciotto (a famous local pastry), but I have always been living in Latina, a city south of Rome.
During these years I have been visiting a lot of place all around the Booth and I am ready to share my knowledge with you, so that you can have the best experience without stressing too much about planning and looking what to do.
This page is a working in progress, as I will regularly update it with more and more guides, so make sure to save it in order to be kept informed.
If you want a more customised itinerary or recommendations for you next Italian adventure, just click on my face above and choose what most suits you.
I am grateful for any feedback you may have and if share my guides it with your loved ones.

Milan is often considered the capital of Fashion and Made in Italy, and most of the time tourists do not focus on visiting the whole cultural and artistic heritage that my beautiful hometown offers.
It also has to say that, compared to Rome, Milan's treasures are more hidden and even those who are born here often don't know all the beautiful secrets that this incredible city offers.
Beyond culture and art, many years ago, I had the privilege to research the legends and lores of this ancient city, to create a guided tour for an event that summoned many healers and therapists.
The tour can take from around 4 hours, depending on how much time you decide to spend in any location.
You can also decide to split the tour in two days.
