Alaska - Northern Lights Winter Adventure - 8 Nights / 9 Days

Alaska, for many Americans, is a great option - no passport required.
The itinerary provided is an overall trip outline that highlights some main attractions of this rugged land.
We also list some ideas of things to do in the towns that you visit. Most towns have "Visitor Information Centers", where you can find detailed information about local events and markets as well as current available activities.
This itinerary maps out a great route from Anchorage north to Fairbanks, with the goal of maximizing the opportunities to witness the Northern Lights.

Escape the hustle and bustle of Phoenix and head north about 2 hours to Sedona, AZ. Known for the gorgeous red rocks and great hiking, it is the perfect spot for a quick weekend getaway.
It is highly recommended to visit in the early spring or fall to avoid the heat midday. I've visited in both May and January, each experience being totally different but, still enjoyable. If you visit in the winter months, plan to see snow (yes it snows in Arizona).

Boston, the capital city of Massachusetts, is a vibrant and historic metropolis that effortlessly blends tradition with modernity. Steeped in American history, Boston played a pivotal role in the Revolutionary War, and its cobblestone streets echo tales of the past. Home to prestigious universities like Harvard and MIT, the city is a hub of intellectual and cultural energy.
Visitors can explore iconic landmarks such as the Freedom Trail, which weaves through historic sites like the Old North Church and Paul Revere's House. The Boston Common and Public Garden offer green spaces for relaxation, while the bustling neighborhoods of Beacon Hill and Back Bay showcase charming brownstones and trendy boutiques.
Please note: As I come back and find new places, I’ll be updating this guide.

Spending time in the Southeast? Chattanooga is on the Southern border of Tennessee - about 2 hours North of Atlanta, GA. The overall quaint and outdoorsy vibe is paired with some of the classic music-loving energy from Nashville you might know and love. There are historic ties to the railroad industry and a lot to explore in the area.
Whether you're just passing through or are enjoying a week in the Chattanooga, I've compiled some of my favorite spots to eat, drink, hike, and check out.

Three years ago in March 2020, I moved to Virginia Beach with my dog, Chewie. I had only planned to live there for a few months but I ended up living there until June 2021.
