Alaska - Northern Lights Winter Adventure - 8 Nights / 9 Days
General Winter Packing Tips:
The general rule for Alaska is casual, comfortable clothing that can be worn in layers. Temperatures in the winter can range from 0 to -30°F (18 to -35°C), so being prepared for whatever Nature throws your way is essential.
Your first layer should be something thin and next to the skin, like long underwear (try to avoid cotton). Your second layer of clothing should be warm, such as a long sleeve shirt and jeans. The third layer can be a fleece jacket or sweater. Your outer layer should protect you against the cold and wind. We recommend a warm coat with a scarf, hat, gloves, and insulated boots and wool socks.
Day 1 - Flight to Anchorage
Anchorage, the capital of Alaska, is a great launching point for your journey. There are many flights into this main city and although, this itinerary is set-up with just one-night in Anchorage; we recommend adding in some additional days and nights here to check-out all the city has to offer.
If you have the flexibility for more time in Alaska and want to pre-extend in Anchorage - at the end of this itinerary, we have listed some Anchorage Highlights.
