Oaxaca has countless wonders waiting just outside of the city's footprint, offering opportunities to experience the regions many traditional crafts firsthand. When I spent 3 weeks in Oaxaca in late 2021, I traveled to many of these countryside destinations, and I've collected that info in this guide.
Below, you’ll find detailed instructions on how to:
1. Shop for traditional black pottery in the village
known for this craft .
2. Discover spirit guides and mezcal culture in the
same region.
3. Learn the ancient art of rug weaving from families
who have been doing so for generations.
4. Taste regional culture at the Sunday market.
5. Escape into the lush mountains south of the city.
These itineraries are ones I’ve spent hours researching and testing out for myself. Enjoy this self guided opportunity to dive into the wonders of Oaxaca!

This guide is a detailed 10 day itinerary with an interactive map showing over 80 locations that we visited on our road trip; months of preparation and planning went into the creation of this. The travel locations include destinations around the Ring Road, locations in the Snæfellsnes peninsula/ Snæfellsjökull National Park, as well as Landmannalauger in the Icelandic highlands. It includes recommended items to pack, cost of camper van and flights, locations and the time needed to travel between each location, how long we spent at each location (when relevant), links to restaurants we visited, and campsites that we stayed at throughout the trip. In the itinerary I've included things that I wish we had done or items that I wish we had brought along with us. This was a trip that my family and I loved and have so many beautiful memories as a result of having experienced it. We hope to share that same magic with you!

Ciao, guys!
What does this part of Naples have that is so exciting for me? It's spirit of community! If you are looking for a lively vibrant part of the city, then the Rione Sanità is definitely worth a visit while you are in Naples. It is a 'working class' part of Naples, and depending on the time of day, can be quite crowded with locals going about their daily routine. Routines that include shopping at many of the street markets where you can buy just about everything, stopping for a coffee, or just chatting in small groups at many of the several small piazzas located throughout the district.
A little history-in the 1500s, the area was a valley known for healthy air thanks to its location nestled between the hills and its close proximity to the catacombs where miracles were performed. The noble community began to settle down here and it was even the route for the royal family who would travel from the Reggia di Capodimonte to the center of Naples. Travelling the route was often tricky and problematic, so a bridge was built. You can imagine what eventually happened over time- the Rione Sanità no longer had the traffic that it had before and basically was cut off from the rest of the city.
What is the area like now? After years of having a terrible reputation, the citizens-particularly the younger generation have been working hard to bring that 'traffic' back.
📌This guide is designed for those of us who want to absorb the vibrancy of this slice of Napoli.
📌Those of us who want to visit the churches which are amazing museums full of spectacular artwork and architecture.
📌Those of us who want to visit catacombs and learn about Naples's rich history, traditions, and superstitions.
📌Those of us who want to walk the streets and observe some fantastic street art and murals.
📌Those of us who want to take advantage of some great examples of street food or sit down at some of the city's top pizzerias for lunch or dinner.
So- get your camera, a good pair of comfortable shoes and let's go!

I have visited Ireland at least once a year of my 27 years and in more recent years, I have opted to fly in through Dublin because the flights are significantly cheaper and way more frequent than to Shannon. As a result, I tend to have a day or two in Dublin on either end of my trip to see friends, family, and the wonderful city of Dublin!
I had all my Dublin recommendations in various Notes on my phone for the longest time. Since we're getting married in Ireland in May 2024, I thought it was as good a time as ever to compile all my recommendations and some other people's recommendations (thank you Kenzie, Shannon and Greg) into one Local-ish Guide to Dublin for our guests traveling to Ireland.
Dublin is Ireland's capital and largest city on the island's east coast. The River Liffey (or the Sniffy Liffey as my Auntie Sandy calls it) runs right through the center of the city dividing it into Northside and Southside, and out to Dublin Bay which feeds into the Irish Sea. Dublin, which translates to "black pool" in Irish, was founded just south of the Liffey by the Vikings in 841. Ever since Dublin has endured a turbulent history but has prevailed and been shaped into the 21st-century city it is today.
At the very end of this document is an overview of language(s), currency, climate, live weather, the best time to visit, public transportation, what to pack, and of course, travel tips!
As always, I'm happy to help you plan a custom itinerary for your trip to Dublin or the rest of Ireland! Just reach out to me directly (:

I first visited Iceland 3 years ago after getting an internship out of nowhere. And since then I been coming back year after year discovering the country more and falling in love even deeper.
Iceland is the crazy combination of fire and ice, pure nature, crazy landscape and unbelievably welcoming people. Friends and family always asked me for recommendations and like that, I eventually came to make this 10-day itinerary that I'd like to share with you. You'll stop at the most iconic locations and do things like whale watching, ice cave hiking and exploring the glacier lagoon by boat.
The itinerary with renting a car in mind. If you want to travel to Iceland without a car check out my other guide on car-free and budget Iceland. You can do it solo or with as many people as you can fit in a car. You can either choose a budget version with camping or be more comfortable with apartments on the way. For example, if you were to travel with a friend the cheapest option would be renting 4x4 and camping with your own tents. That would be 480€ per person plus activities and if you choose all of them total would be 890€. You can explore all price options in an interactive spreadsheet.
What you'll find in this guide
✔️Day-to-day itinerary
✔️Recommendation for car rental
✔️Recommendation for activities
✔️Recommendations for restaurants
✔️Budget estimate for different styles (camping, camper van, hostels, hotels)
What you won't find in this guide
✖️Accommodation recommendations (depends on no. people traveling and your traveling style)
