The perfect day or weekend in Kampala. For when the tour guides & websites tell you that Kampala "isn't worth it" but you want to discover the city anyways! I have lived in Kampala for the past six years and want to share with you why this city has held such a special place in my heart.
Of course I have included the historical sites and local craft shops that are a must but also a ton of fun unique activities to discover the city and culture. As a foodie, in my opinion there is no better way to get to know a city then by planning your day around the coolest brunch, sundowner, dinner and bar spots and if that sounds like you then this list includes all the best places to experience the Kampala vibe properly!
This guide also includes reliable contacts to get around by car or by "boda boda" (local motorcycle taxis).

I lived in Lima for a year, and visit often for work trips — and the best part by far, is the food. Peruvians are obsessed with food in a passionate, compulsive, borderline clinical way. It is the base of their culture, their favorite pastime and topic of conversation.
I am a SEAFOOD lover & eat almost no meat —- so this list is heavily seafood skewed, but when in Lima, I think that’s a great bias.
Lima is a great place to stop for a few days before heading to see the rest of the country. It is worth splurging to eat well.

The best markets in Australia: Great food, souvenirs and much more!
We do love a good local market! Being 'in town' on the right day to catch market day is crucial - sometimes they're daily (or nightly!), some are on Saturdays or Sundays, and some are only on every second weekend or so. So do plan ahead - and don't miss out! We love wandering around and checking out the local products and wares - especially the food!!
We're pretty biased and think Salamanca Market in Lutruwita/Tasmania is the best market in the world! Yesssss we know Barcelona's La Rambla Market is pretty darn impressive and we've been to some epic markets in Asia and South America too, but Nipaluna/Hobart packs well above its weight with an amazing local arts, craft and artisan scene, very talented buskers and of course the food is amazing! You can also pick up great handmade souvenirs as well as locally grown fruit, veg and other produce.
Australia's markets are not to be missed. Wander through the stalls and rub shoulders with locals and tourists alike. And, of course, in Australia markets are safe (no pick pockets!), are generally accessible (check the website links below for more!) and many are committed to sustainability with biodegradable, recycled or reusable packaging and no single-use plastics in sight.
Feel good by supporting local businesses and artists. And if you do feel the need to buy souvenirs - check the labelling and make sure you are buying locally made products whenever you can.
OK now we're craving a papaya salad at sunset at Mindil Market in Darwin!!

Here is a great, quick guide to help you create a layover in Hong Kong. If your travel plans don't offer you the time for a full-stay, but you want to check-out this fascinating city - use this guide to assist you in a layover.
We planned a Southeast Asia trip and our flights had us with about 10 hours in Hong Kong - so I checked into the details and requirements to make it happen and with a few easy-steps, we were enjoying dim sum in the Harbour area, within an hour of our flight landing.
Enjoy!
