Kampala
Lulu Berouard
The perfect day or weekend in Kampala. For when the tour guides & websites tell you that Kampala "isn't worth it" but you want to discover the city anyways! I have lived in Kampala for the past six years and want to share with you why this city has held such a special place in my heart.
Of course I have included the historical sites and local craft shops that are a must but also a ton of fun unique activities to discover the city and culture. As a foodie, in my opinion there is no better way to get to know a city then by planning your day around the coolest brunch, sundowner, dinner and bar spots and if that sounds like you then this list includes all the best places to experience the Kampala vibe properly!
This guide also includes reliable contacts to get around by car or by "boda boda" (local motorcycle taxis).

Kardamom & Koffee

Set in a beautiful garden this really is one of the cutest cafes in Kampala! They regularly have a photo exhibition up, and you can enjoy the serene and cute seating options.

Cafesserie Acacia Mall
@luluingreen
I don't love sitting in malls while traveling - but if you care more about the food than the vibe then this is hands down the most consistently reliable and good food - they have great brunch, lunch and coffee! There is also a chain in Bugolobi if thats closer to where you are staying.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Lulu Berouard
Hi there :)
My name is Lulu and I have been based in Uganda for the past 6 years! I started a creative agency specialised in storytelling for Impact called Marula Creative Agency - and this gave me the opportunity to explore all sides of Uganda and East Africa.
I'm a foodie, love kitesurfing, nature and hiking and love to find beautiful places and boutique hotels that have the best price to quality ratio. I've been a traveller all around and regularly plan trips in East Africa for friends and family. We also recently launched a travel agency as part of our services at Marula to focus on traveling whilst discovering impactful social enterprises for corporate trips. This also allows me to ensure that you get the best deals locally! If that sounds like you and you want to discover East Africa through beautiful places and food, unique experiences with the local culture and businesses whilst still seeing the best nature has to offer then I would love to help organise your trip! This allows
I offer personalised trip as well as a few guides you can download if you want to self - organise! Looking forward to helping you make new memories :)
