It was a dark and stormy night when I woke up in San Diego—because that's where I live. "Here goes nothing," I say. The coffee in the pot is stale—who knows how old. The days all seem to run together ever since.... I shake the memory out of my head and pull on some warm clothes. I'm leaving the house to visit the most haunted places in San Diego. I pray I'll make it home. * * * Spoiler alert: I did. If you're going to navigate the paranormal world of San Diego, you'll need my help.

From the time I fell in love with the Beach Boys music, I have been an ocean loving girl. I longed to go to the California coast and live the life, surfing, and lying on the beach all day. But growing up in the Southern part of the United States that never was to be. I never lost either my love of the beach/ocean or my desire to see the California coast, but it was a long, LONG time before I could make that dream come true. But finally I did, and believe me, it was all I hoped and imagined it would be. I traveled the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to Pismo Beach exploring every little place that looked fun, interesting or just spectacularly scenic. As you can imagine--I stopped a LOT. So, you're ready to go to Miami but have under a weekend to do it? This is the itinerary for you! Welcome to my Weekender Series, meant for the limited-on-pto weekend warriors of the world. With our schedules on this particular week, we visited for a Thursday to Saturday trip, leaving Thursday afternoon and returning Saturday evening. This could work similarly for any weekend you have, and if you're at all closer to Florida, you'd likely end up with even more time! Welcome to the Atlantic side ! Portugal is located in the south of France, next to Spain, and on the contrary is open to the Atlantic ocean and not the Mediterranean sea! The beaches are still beautiful, and cities like Porto or Lisbon have the advantage of being "inside" the country. They both have an inside sea, for city trips, but also a part located at the ocean for more "beachy" holidays. Then again, the most beautiful beaches would be in the south, in the Algarve region :)
