Montenegro is a picturesque hidden gem. The Bay of Kotor, just off the Adriatic Sea, is surrounded by beautiful mountains with historic towns dotted along the coastline. Exploring The Bay of Kotor and towns along the Adriatic Coast will give you the fullest Montenegrin experience.
We heard Montenegro was a great place to sit out on a tourist visa from the Schengen Region, but didn't know what to expect. We took the leap, booked a 2.5 month trip, and found ourselves enchanted by the country. From tranquil charm to picturesque old towns, sun-kissed beaches, and majestic mountains, Montenegro has all the ingredients for an idyllic getaway—it exceeded our wildest dreams.
In this extensive, jam-packed guide we cover:
🚘 Logistical travel information
🗺️ 3 towns to visit
🗓️ Sample routing (how many days to spend in each place)
⏱️ The best times to visit
💬 Basic cultural information (language, currency, etc.)
🛏️ Where to stay
🤓 Historical information
🏰 Must-see sights & things to do
🍲 Dining recommendations
☕️ Coffee shops
🍻 Where to grab a drink
+ 3 ideas for day trips!
It's useful for all travelers, whether you're planning to visit Montenegro for a few nights or an extended period!
🌱 We found Montenegro to be moderately vegan/vegetarian friendly.
🐾 Montenegro is very dog-friendly. In this guide, we share more information about requirements for entry to Montenegro with a canine, as well as pet-friendly places to make your trip a paw-some success!
🏳️🌈 Montenegro is moderately LGBTQ+ friendly. It is more progressive than other countries in the region, but we did not see any signs of visible LGBTQ+ presence, such as pride flags, gay bars, or open displays of affection. More on this in the guide.
‼️ If you're looking for more detailed information regarding places to spend time outside the Schengen Region or long-term travel to Montenegro, feel free to reach out or set up a consultation call.

Over the last 2 years, I have spent three and a half months in Porto, Portugal. That's a ton of meals! 😆 I love trying new foods and restaurants, and here are some of my favorite spots in and around the historic center of Porto!
Most of these places I've just found in my research over the years, some I've been lucky enough to just stumble on, and others have been suggested to me by the locals I have met along the way. But most importantly, I've actually been to every one of these places personally (some more than once!).
I've tried to provide a mix of budget, moderately priced and a few splurge meals. I hope my personal recommendations can help you plan your culinary journey around Porto!
What's included in this guide:
🔹9 Coffee/brunch options
🔹19 Lunch/dinner options
🔹3 Dessert options
🔹9 Bar/nightlife/cocktail options
🔹3 Food/drink related activities

London is full of amazing options that will undoubtedly add to your time and experience here. From bustling central, to the beautiful west side and cool and trendy east side, there are so many interesting places to stay depending on the kind of trip you want to have. These are the kind of places I'd stay if I were visiting London 🛎️
I've included a mix of...
✨ ACCOMMODATION TYPES: modern & Victorian boutiques, residential pub hotels, splurge-worthy gems
✨ LOCATIONS: in the hustle and bustle or quieter areas
✨ PRICE POINTS: moderate to splurge
And because London is so well connected thanks to a brilliant public transport system, each of the listed spots are either close to bus and tube lines - and/or are walking distance to amazing sites and scenes.
At the time of writing, all of these recommendations have at least a 4 out of 5 rating on Google and at least an 8 out of 10 rating on Booking.com. And that benchmark hasn't led me astray yet 😊

Central Oregon is a stunning place to visit. It's off the beaten path from the bustling urban atmosphere of Portland (~3.5 hours away) and it's the perfect destination if you're into brews and views. Oregon's landscape is truly unmatched and it holds a special place in my heart after living in the state for 5 years.
Unlike the moderate climate of the west coast, central Oregon is well known for its winter and spectacular skiing. But, I recommend visiting Bend in the warmer months from May - September to experience the sunny mountain town vibes, enjoying the endless patio dining options, hitting the trail, floating the river, or biking through the high desert scenery.
In this guide I've outlined some fun activities, recommendations for lodging, as well as the top spots for breakfast, great bites, and top notch breweries.

Active volcanoes. Dancing northern lights. Gushing geysers. Massive glaciers. Thermal hot springs. Thundering waterfalls. Iceland is the ultimate adventure destination. How have you not been here yet? It’s finally time. Start in the northernmost capital in the world. Reykjavik is a hip, modern city. Then start exploring the wild coastline, the sheep-filled countryside, the icy interior, and the peaceful islands. There are plenty of black-sand beaches, small fishing villages, turf-roofed houses, and epic hikes along the way. Just remember to pack layers. Sometimes, the Gulf Stream provides moderate temperatures. Other times, it’ll feel like you’re in the Arctic. Also don’t forget the long, dark winters and the 24-hour daylight during the short summers. If you take advantage of Icelandair’s free stopover program—a great excuse to visit Helsinki, Copenhagen, and even Paris—you can keep returning to discover which season you like best.
This detailed guide includes:

Nestled under the foot of the Caucasus Mountains range, Svaneti is no doubt a hikers' paradise; lush greenery, gorgeous waterfalls, deep gorges, alpine lakes, medieval defense towers, and snow-covered peaks do leave you speechless. However, there are various things to do in Mestia that involve less hiking and enable you to be close to nature and see some of its iconic spots.
Please note that this non-hikers guide to Svaneti covers a few easy or moderately easy hiking trails that don’t need much physical preparation.
Because let’s face it, Svaneti is known for its highland natural wonders, so without that, Mestia is just a tiny town with few attractions. And going through all the effort to get to Svaneti might not be worth it just to see Mestia. The absolute beauty of this region is in its wild nature and mountain peaks.
This guide includes:
- A brief explanation of Svaneti region
- Best time to visit Mestia
- A few essentials to pack
- How many days to spend
- How to get to Mestia (+ my prefered way)
- Best Mestia Hotels
- 8 top things to do, with easy hikes
