We do love a good local market! Being 'in town' on the right day to catch market day is crucial - sometimes they're daily (or nightly!), some are on Saturdays or Sundays, and some are only on every second weekend or so. So do plan ahead - and don't miss out! We love wandering around and checking out the local products and wares - especially the food!! We're pretty biased and think Salamanca Market in Lutruwita/Tasmania is the best market in the world! Yesssss we know Barcelona's La Rambla Market is pretty darn impressive and we've been to some epic markets in Asia and South America too, but Nipaluna/Hobart packs well above its weight with an amazing local arts, craft and artisan scene, very talented buskers and of course the food is amazing! You can also pick up great handmade souvenirs as well as locally grown fruit, veg and other produce. Australia's markets are not to be missed. Wander through the stalls and rub shoulders with locals and tourists alike. And, of course, in Australia markets are safe (no pick pockets!), are generally accessible (check the website links below for more!) and many are committed to sustainability with biodegradable, recycled or reusable packaging and no single-use plastics in sight. Feel good by supporting local businesses and artists. And if you do feel the need to buy souvenirs - check the labelling and make sure you are buying locally made products whenever you can. OK now we're craving a papaya salad at sunset at Mindil Market in Darwin!!

Ponta Delgada is the capital of the Azores. "Thin Cape" sits on the southwest shore of São Miguel Island, the largest island in the autonomous archipelago. The city was a small fishing village until a 1522 earthquake destroyed Vila Franca do Campo, the island's original capital. Ponta Delgada quickly got an upgrade. Its economy and size grew with the citrus-exporting business. Black-and-white basalt buildings--a bell tower, churches, squares--still fill the city's historic core. New gourmet restaurants and waterfront bars do, too. It's easy to get to know Ponta Delgada by walking, as the narrow streets all eventually lead down to the large marina. Sidney by the Sea is the perfect dream coastal town with Beacon Ave (main street) ending on the water front. On a clear day you can see Mount Baker or maybe even some Orcas swim by during the summer. Taking a stroll through the shops of Sidney is something I have always loved to do and have been doing for years. And while the street grows and changes, and businesses come and go Sidney always has some great options no matter what you are looking for (unless you are looking for big box stores then this isn't the place for you). In this guide I have rounded up my current must see boutiques of Sidney and just some of the reasons why I love them. There is also a TON more shops, cafes, and businesses on the street and just because they are not on this map doesn't mean don't check them out. This map is about shops I frequent my self and always recommend when asked, but the rest of town is pretty great too.

I never knew where we were headed but it was always an adventure. On one such occasion he drove me to the Santa Lucia church in Sassinoro, a magical, sacred place along the Archangel Michael's lei line. I went back often seeking the serenity of nature and the Divine. I've since discovered other magical sites in the area which I put together in this guide.
