Shopping by the Sea - A Sidney, BC boutique guide
Shopping by the Sea - A Sidney, BC boutique guide
CJ K
Sidney by the Sea is the perfect dream coastal town with Beacon Ave (main street) ending on the water front. On a clear day you can see Mount Baker or maybe even some Orcas swim by during the summer.
Taking a stroll through the shops of Sidney is something I have always loved to do and have been doing for years. And while the street grows and changes, and businesses come and go Sidney always has some great options no matter what you are looking for (unless you are looking for big box stores then this isn't the place for you).
In this guide I have rounded up my current must see boutiques of Sidney and just some of the reasons why I love them. There is also a TON more shops, cafes, and businesses on the street and just because they are not on this map doesn't mean don't check them out. This map is about shops I frequent my self and always recommend when asked, but the rest of town is pretty great too.

With a large (so large it's basically it's own store) children section there is something for everyone.

And who doesn't want to see a Giant Pacific Octopus? Their giftshop is similar, working dominantly local vendors/artisans to bring in a curated collections of items that showcase the region in all it's glory. Stop buy for a visit and then on your way out make sure to scoop up a couple items to remind you of the Salish Sea and help show your support for the aquarium.

Looking for something a little fancier? Like Pyrrha or Pandora? Or maybe you are looking blankets, art or a tea set. Well Provenance has it, and one heck of view right out side their door to. Check out this cute shop for a mix of stunning treasures. One of my all time favourite lipsticks is from Provenance, it's unique because it is a different colour for every person (yes it literally is the same tube but changes colour based on person).

Hi There, I'm CJ! Born in Beautiful British Columbia, raised in Alberta, and now living on Vancouver Island makes me a girl from the prairies but bound to the ocean. Travelled with my family for years before taking my first solo trip in 2018 which resulted in my being bitten by the travel bug!
I am a go-go-go traveler, with the thought that I may never return to a place (I mean there is so many places to see in the world) so I better do as much as I can while I am there. Planning detailed itineraries for myself and others bring me so much joy so when I stumbled upon Thatch I thought I would give it ago to see if I could help even more people plan their dream vacation.
So, if you like days of cafes, bookstores, historic houses, art galleries, aquariums, snorkeling, beach days, antique stores, famous landmarks, theme parks, river floats and more then check out my shop.
