In Guatemala, every day is a new adventure. Picture yourself working from a cozy café in the colonial city of Antigua, surrounded by cobblestone streets and colorful facades. On weekends, you could be hiking up active volcanoes, exploring chaotic local markets, or diving into crystal-clear waters. The country’s diverse landscapes—from rain forests and serene lakes to rugged mountains and black beaches—offer endless opportunities for exploration and inspiration.
This guide is a 1-month itinerary for digital nomads, taking you from Xela, to Lake Atitlán, to El Paredón, and Antigua where you can hike the volcano Acatenango, then pursue your journey north to Semuc Champey and Flores.
I did this trip in May 2023 and would recommend it to everyone. Just an insight in how I build this guide. It is based on my experience, I was traveling with my partner. We were working from Monday to Thursday and would travel in the weekends. I will add the following sign 🏠, to the places we stayed but I will also add a cheaper option and a more expensive option, that I found either on hostelworld, booking.com or Airbnb with good reviews.
Legend:
❤️- Highly recommend (the more hearts the more I loved it)
🏠 - The places I stayed
💻 - Restaurant you can work from
💵= Budget
💵💵 Mid-Budget
💵💵💵High Budget
If you have any question do not hesitate to book a consultancy or send me a DM through instagram: https://www.instagram.com/anywherewithanea/
Also, if you book through the links I added I will earn some commission this will not add costs to you but will give me some extra earnings. Thank you in advance and I hope you will enjoy Guatemala as much as I did.

If you follow me on IG, you’ll be well aware of my love for Zakopane. This mountain town nestled at the base of Poland’s Tatra mountains is famous for its skiing in Winter and incredible year-round hikes.
I’ve been there 5 times in 4 years now, and the main reason I come back (apart from the incredible scenery and fresh mountain air) is due to a hostel that holds a special place in my heart. Good Bye Lenin is owned by Marzena and Pawel, a wonderful couple who have created an incredibly wholesome environment for everyone who stays there.
That said, the volunteers who run the hostel are what really makes it stand out. I visited GBL as a guest in Summer 2019 and Winter 2020, but was determined to come back as a volunteer next time. So that’s exactly what I did in 2023 year; not once, but twice!
There’s so much to do on a trip to Zakopane that it would be impossible to list it all, but I’ve rounded up my top recommendations below.

Ljubljana is the capital and largest city in Slovenia. The Dragon City, which straddles the Ljubljanica River, survived Roman, Habsburg, and Yugoslavian rule to lead the mountainous country into independence. Slovenia has become the Green Heart of Europe, while Ljubljana is one of the greenest capitals on the continent.
This charming city is home to less than 300,000 people. It's a university town, a tech center, and an artist's haven. The Old Town is full of Baroque buildings with red-tiled roofs, detailed bridges, and lively squares. Cafes with terrace seating line the river, which is used by kayakers and sightseeing boats. New hotels, restaurants, and wine bars keep popping up in this car-free area. While Ljubljana Castle stands on a hill overlooking it all.
The compact city is a central base for adventures all over the small country. But best of all: Ljubljana still feels like an under-the-radar destination. Go fall in love with this enchanting city before everyone else catches on.
This detailed guide includes:
Places: neighborhoods
Stay: hotels
Eat: cafés, pizzerias, restaurants
Drink: lounges, wine bars
Shop: antique markets, toy stores
Do: bridges, castles, cathedrals, churches, city models, fountains, funiculars, monuments, parks, puppet museums, rivers, sculptures, squares, statues

Did you know Big Bend National Park is the #4 rated place in the world to see the stars? This park is so stunning that on clear nights you can see the entire milky way with almost no light pollution.
Recently, I checked stargazing off my bucket list and traveled between El Paso and Big Bend on a 5 hour winding road trip. On the way, I discovered all kinds of hidden gems and places worth visiting. In this guide you will find my favorite stops along the west Texas border.
What's Included:
• 2 Different Routes between El Paso & Big Bend National Park
Recommendations In:
• El Paso
• Fort Davis
• Marfa
• Terlingua
• and every stop in between
+ potential additional stops farther afield
This trip was unforgettable for me and I hope it's something I can help others experience too. Most of West Texas is very rural, so I made sure to include the best advice I have for other people (like me) that are from large urban cities and other climate zones.
PS- I visited during the heat wave of late summer 2023, I don't recommend. Consider visiting when it is cooler - it was 115 degrees when I was in town.

We loved our time in this beautiful little town and surrounding countryside that's just an hour south of Dublin. There's so many wonderful and unique hikes to choose from and no shortage of pubs and restaurants either! There's only one cafe that allows dogs inside in town, but depending on where your adventure takes you, there are a few more options in the surrounding county. Bring your hiking boots or least sturdy footwear, you're not going to want to miss these beautiful, scenic walks!
