Results for Zakopane Adventure
Zakopane dog-friendly itinerary is finally here because exploring Tatra National Park in Zakopane, Poland with a dog may be challenging because of all of the restrictions regarding dogs and other pets on the trails. However, there are trails in Tatra National Park where you can go hiking with your dog on a leash, such as Droga Pod Reglami and Chocholowska Valley.
In addition to the restrictions in Tatra National Park, there are plenty of alternative trails outside the park in Zakopane and its surrounding area that are perfect for dog walking. They will offer more flexible dog-friendly policies, giving dog owners the freedom to relish the stunning scenery without being bound by the park’s rules and regulations. Furthermore, these trails are often quieter, allowing for a more serene hiking experience. It is vital to remember to follow the rules, bring enough water and snacks for both you and your furry friend, and clean up after your pet. By doing so, these alternative trails can provide a fantastic opportunity for dog owners to explore the Tatra Mountains region while bonding with their pets.
In brief, this itinerary gives You an insight into the best dog-friendly places that may be necessary for Your four-legged friend in Zakopane and trails in Tatra National Park or outside of it to take a walk with Your furry friend.

If you follow me on IG, you’ll be well aware of my love for Zakopane. This mountain town nestled at the base of Poland’s Tatra mountains is famous for its skiing in Winter and incredible year-round hikes.
I’ve been there 5 times in 4 years now, and the main reason I come back (apart from the incredible scenery and fresh mountain air) is due to a hostel that holds a special place in my heart. Good Bye Lenin is owned by Marzena and Pawel, a wonderful couple who have created an incredibly wholesome environment for everyone who stays there.
That said, the volunteers who run the hostel are what really makes it stand out. I visited GBL as a guest in Summer 2019 and Winter 2020, but was determined to come back as a volunteer next time. So that’s exactly what I did in 2023 year; not once, but twice!
There’s so much to do on a trip to Zakopane that it would be impossible to list it all, but I’ve rounded up my top recommendations below.
