A Long Weekend in Krakow 🇵🇱
Things to Know 📍
- The local currency is the Polish Zloty (PLN)
- Krakow is a very walkable city, although there is a train system which operates throughout the centre if you prefer
- Travel from the airport into the city centre is fast and affordable, taking around 20 mins and costing less than £3pp for a one way trip
- You can also take a taxi which will take around 30 mins for roughly £17 each way
TOP TIP
- You will see several horse and carriages in the Main Square, waiting to take tourists on a ride around the city. We too thought they were beautiful and checked out the prices etc, but later in our trip after catching up with a friend who lives in Krakow we found out about how poorly these horses are treated. Particularly in the summer they are made to stand in the heat for several hours, only being allowed water when tourist demands are low and due to this, sadly several horses have actually died from exhaustion of standing there in the square. If there is one thing to avoid, it would be a ride in these carriages
