What people say

" Its remote setting enhances its allure, providing visitors with a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of more commercialized beach spots. Situated between the towns of Himara and Dhërmi, Gjipe Beach is somewhat challenging to access due to its secluded location. The most convenient way to reach the beach is by car or taxi from either of these nearby towns. However, parking is not available directly on the beach. Visitors will need to park in a designated area and then embark on a scenic 25-minute hike down a forested path that leads to the beach. It’s advisable to wear sturdy footwear for the trek, as the trail can be uneven in places. Once you arrive at Gjipe Beach, you’ll be rewarded with a tranquil environment perfect for relaxation and enjoying nature. The breathtaking views of the canyon and the surrounding cliffs create a picturesque backdrop for sunbathing, swimming, or simply unwinding in this idyllic setting. Whether you’re looking to escape the crowds or explore the beauty of the Albanian Riviera, Gjipe Beach is undoubtedly a must-visit destination."

"Drive 30-40 minutes north up the coast to Gjipe beach. You’ll arrive at a parking lot, pay around $3 for parking, and hike 10-15 minutes down a dirt road to reach the beach. Behind Gjipe Beach is Gjipe Canyon. You can take a hike into the canyon and take a refreshing dip in the crystal clear sea after. This was one of my favorite beaches as it is secluded and surrounded by nature. There are a couple of restaurants on the beach serving Albanian food, and you can also rent SUPs/paddleboards. After sunset the crowd clears out and it becomes a Gjipe Eco Campground. I met people from all over the world volunteering here and also learned that the Albanian Riviera is a large producer of olive oild and the area around the canyon is an olive tree farm. "
"Now this beach...breathtaking. This is by far my absolute favorite beach in all of Albania. However, it does require a hike to get to. It takes about 25-30 minutes and it is recommended to wear running shoes as the uneven ground can be hard to navigate. From the parking lot, you will take the trail down and have absolutely stunning views of the water the entire time (not a bad place to stop and take many water breaks). At this beach, you also have a small restaurant and the option to rent a beach chair. There are lots of places to set down a towel too. "
