"The National Museum of Iceland - in Icelandic: Þjóðminjasafn Íslands - is a museum dedicated to the history and culture of Iceland, located in the city of Reykjavik, the country's capital. It was founded in 1863, and is located on Sudurgata Street (Suðurgata), close to the Árni Magnússon Institute, the National Library and the Saga Hotel. The museum contains more than 16,000 objects – from colonization times to the present day, including clothing, agricultural tools, furniture and fishing boats. A section of the building is dedicated to DNA testing of the Icelandic population, dating back to the first settlers. Another part of the museum shows the musical career of Icelandic singer Björk."
