Specialty Coffee Shops in Milan

Italian espresso is all over Milan and no longer consumed only in bars, but also in markets, railway stations, bookshops and boutiques. Very good espresso is available all over the center of the city and so too is Starbucks as of 2018. 
3rd wave coffee is slow to arrive in Milan as the city is saturated with really good espresso which always costs less than 1.50 euros.

You would like to travel/move to Milan but you are feeling a little lost? Don't worry, I have been there too! Big cities can be overwhelming and as a newby you might need to be careful to not fall into tourist traps, or miss out on a wonderful experience right around the corner. 

I moved to Milan 4 years ago, and after a lot of exploring (and a lot of walking!) I have discovered many nice places, beautiful corners and I know my way around like a local.

I like to share my experience and knowledge, so I put together a guide with all my favourite spots in Milan.

Orsonero Coffee

This Orsonero location is absolutely worth a visit, even if you've already been to the other one on via Bonvesin. This one feels a little more welcoming to sit and stay a while whereas the other location, with it's limited seating, is more drink and go.
I have found that Orsonero really attracts the young, international community of Milan, so it's a great place to make friends too!

Orsonero Coffee is a cozy café known for its high-quality specialty coffee, freshly baked croissants, and pastries. The café, founded by a Canadian named Brent Jopson, is popular for its espresso, pour-over, and aeropress coffee varieties.

A cozy cafe located in a quiet neighbourhood, perfect for a a break from shopping at Corso Buenos Aires. The minimal interior is inspired by the owner's time abroad in Canada, but the coffee is served according to Italian customs.  

A specialty coffee shop with a friendly staff. If you are quite into coffee you can’t miss a stop here. They offer a rotating menu of diverse drinks and coffee origins.
