The island, located 1000 kilometers from Portugal in the Atlantic ocean, is often referred to as the Hawaii of Europe with its rough mountains and steep cliffs. The route includes all the highlights of the island - it is a perfect mix of hiking, beautiful viewpoints and exploration. You will see the best of the whole Island. We have visited Madeira several times and have explored a lot! We want to share our knowledge so you can have the best experience. This guide also requires a rental car, as some places are not accessible by bus. Also, the bus system is a bit complicated and we always recommend a rental car in Madeira.
