Welcome to Madeira, often called as the island of eternal spring! This stunning Portuguese island is located in the Atlantic Ocean and is part of the Madeira archipelago. The volcanic Madeira offers green valleys full of lush vegetation, slopes covered in colorful flowers, wild cliffs, mountains, lava remnants, sea cliffs, and beautiful coastlines. The island is crisscrossed by irrigation systems called levadas, built over centuries.
With this detailed itinerary, you’ll have the opportunity to experience all of these beauties!
Important informations and recommendations
I highly recommend this trip to all passionate active travelers, as well as beginners. It’s great for groups, couples, or even solo travelers. Some activities require a certain level of physical fitness, so it’s up to you whether you want to participate or skip these activities.
The itinerary is flexible and may vary due to the relatively frequent changes in the weather. Madeira is known for its rainy season (October-March). ANYWAY, it's not heavy rain, but rather short showers (I recommend always having a raincoat with you).
Since October 2024, it’s mandatory to pay for access to selected hiking trails and levadas due to the high number of visitors! Official website with all details and payment information:
