"This is a 4.7 mile hike with 1,000 feet of elevation gain. This won’t be for everyone and you may want to just hike in to see the base of the cinder cone and hike back. We did to many other hikes inside the park and were to tired to do it. Learn from my experience and go hike that cone! "

Exploring Somewhere
"In our opinion one of the best hikes you can do in Lassen, the Cinder Cone Trail is 4 miles out and back to the top of the Cinder Cone Volcano. From the peak you get amazing views of the painted dunes, fantastic lava beds, Butte Lake, and Lassen Peak."
