"The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the only still advancing glaciers in the world. It is located with in the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. You will need to buy a ticket to enter the park. These are only available to buy in person via card or Argentinian Pesos (not USD). If you visit the park multiple days you should keep your ticket from the day before to receive a discount.
The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the only glaciers in the region reachable by car. You can take a tour, rent a car, or take a shuttle from El Calafate to visit. Once there you can walk the 4kms of pathways to see the glacier. I recommend packing a picnic and eating your lunch on the boardwalk.
One of the things to look out for is that every 10 to 20 minutes huge chunks of ice fall from the face of the Perito Moreno glacier. It sounds like a clap of thunder so look out for that.
Tours offer several different options for visiting the glacier as well including walking on top of the glacier, walking alongside it, and a boat tour of the front of the glacier. "

"With a length of 30 km and a height of up to 70 m, it's the third largest glacier in Argentina after Upsala and Viedma and is even larger than the city of Buenos Aires.
This majestic glacier moves about 2 meters per day. Its ice tongue is not floating, it's grounded, forming a natural dam as it advances towards the opposite shore.
The Perito Moreno has been stable in size for 100 years but seems to have narrowed in the last 2-3 years. Additionally, it has been observed that the icebergs breaking off from it are becoming larger, a phenomenon that was usually associated the Upsala Glacier. However, to definitely confirm if Perito Moreno is retreating, it needs to be observed for a few more years."

" This glacier originates in the Southern Patagonian ice field. In its descent, it reaches the southern arm of Lake Argentino, with a front of 5 km in length, emerging over the water with a height of about 60 m. There is a waterfront promenade and boat excursions in the vicinity of the glacier. A bridge of ice connecting the glacier to the land breaks every few years attracting thousands of tourists from everywhere around the world. Hearing the glacier "singing" is an unforgettable experience."
