Sally's Apizza

"We enjoyed dinner with friends here, off-camera. Sally's, like Frank Pepe's, is a historic pizzeria on Wooster St. in New Haven. Sally's is rustic, change-rejecting, running on good old-fashioned charm. The interior is a little dated, but it's one of those places that very intentional rejects change to assert that their business and their pizza is the same as it was a hundred years ago - and it works! They only take cash, and seating is limited, but the pizza is phenomenal. I liked the pizza better here than at Frank Pepe's, but the atmosphere and seating at Frank Pepe's was a little more accommodating. I recommend you try both historic pizzerias to decide which one you like the best!"

"If you're looking for a spot to eat, this is it! Grab a pizza to go and eat at the park next door. There's even dedicated trash bins for pizza boxes only when you're done. The whole street is full of authentic Italian food."

"We KNOW it's controversial, but we think New Haven has better pizza than NYC. New York still has amazing pizza, but Sally's is where we go when we want the best slice."
