I personally think Vancouver Island in itself is the hidden gem of Canada, so if you're planning a trip to explore the beautiful Island, you're in for a treat! 

Born and raised here, I've travelled up and down the island many times to explore, hike, camp, chase waterfalls, eat, drink and be merry. I have put together a list of everything you shouldn't miss while exploring this gorgeous island! I have personally been to all these places and would absolutely recommend. I hope you enjoy!

Everyones favourite West Coast town to visit, the not so hidden hidden gem, TOFINO and UCLUELET! 

Nestled on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Tofino and Ucluelet are full of active wildlife, rugged and raw coastal beauty, jaw dropping nature, laid back surfing vibes, and of course pure relaxation. If you're planning a trip to explore this part of the beautiful Island, you're in for a treat! 

Making the 6-hour road trip from Victoria a few times a year, I have put together a list of everything you shouldn't miss while in these towns. I have personally been to all these places and would absolutely recommend. I hope you enjoy!

West Coast Treasures: Tofino and Ucluelet 

Ucluelet Lighthouse Loop

If you drive 40 minutes down from Tofino, you will find the village of Ucluelet. It's way less busy than Tofino, to be fair because there is not so much to do, but there is one stroll that I absolutely recommend. The loop takes about 1 hour to complete and is super easy to follow, totally flat. It will take you to a cute lighthouse, but mostly along the rugged and picturesque coastline.

An easy, gorgeous hike year round. Lots of ocean view lookouts, huge trees and info signs around the trail. Well defined and easy to follow- you won’t get lost! Parking isn’t an issue, and there’s some benches & public outhouses on site. 

Uculet is the lesser known Tofino. A Gorgeous, but sleepy, seaside town to relax, camp, hike, swim, surf, view sea life, eat, drink and be merry. 

A great easy loop trail that goes along the Ucluelet coast. Keep an eye for ocean life!
