Exploring the Historic Heart of Vienna.
The vibrant capital of Austria, known for much more than just its majestic palaces and classical music. With its stunning architecture, the center is exactly the place to start discovering the vibes of this city.
For starters, the most famous cafe in the city, offering great options for breakfast, or just a simple afternoon "coffee and dessert" right in the heart of Vienna. Just a little tip: Be sure to book a table in advance, just to be sure that you will have the time and spot to enjoy this experience.
A great place to take a walk afterwards is the Rathausplatz where you can enjoy a mixture of great architecture and green space where you can wander off to.
If you have a feeling that you are missing on osme concrete knowledge, you can stroll for the museum quarter, where you will find the famous monument of Maria Theresa, but also the Natural History Museum of Vienna and the numerous neighbouring art museums.
Also, do not forget to visit the Albertina Museum after having the best street wurstel from the Bitzinger Sausage Stand, just outside the entrance.
It's time for a drink, don't you think? I mean, museums and city stolling is all nice and interesting, but nothing like a beer with nice company in a beautiful space. Which brings us to our next spot, the Schmeterlinghaus is a great idea to connect to extraordinary nature in a relaxing environment. Even if you´re not up to connecting with nature, it is nested inside Vienna's Burggarten (Imperial Garden), a great space for a little catch-up or planning for the day(s) to follow.
Be sure to set aside some relaxed hours to meander through the charming city center at your own pace. You'll stumble upon the perfect chocolate shop to grab some sweet gifts for your loved ones back home, or perhaps you'll decide to savour more of the delightful local cuisine. While doing so, be sure to make a stop at St. Stephen's Cathedral, a prime example of Gothic architecture. And if you want to find out more, check Pummerin 👀👀.
Lastly, but certainly not least, make sure to check the opera calendar and performance schedules well in advance. I highly recommend having such an experience, especially in a city as historically significant for opera as Vienna. Even though the Operahaus is exquisite in terms of architecture and decoration, bringing us into an environment of luxury and wealth, the prices for the performances can range vastly, so don't get your hopes down!
All in all, discovering a new city can be very different for each person. The most important thing is to have a plan and respect your own pace. I sincerely wish that you have fun doing each part of the trip and each activity you choose. :)-Io 🌍🌎🌏
